I haven't tried it, but looking at this MIDI CC guide -- midi.guide/d/elektron/digitakt/ -- it looks like CC 19 can control sample slot! Definitely some interesting possibilities there.
Stellar work. I'm new to Oxi One, and I have Octatrack, and a new Digitak II. My melodic voice is HydraSynth and/or Coral. So I'm working up a new "flow".
You did well. I like these kinds of videos where someone says, “here’s what I want to make happen,” and then lets me see and hear what they did to make that happen. I’m okay with mistakes, I make them too. It’s how you are guaranteed to learn. The 12 XT is just plain fun. I’m hoping they add some more things (like playing samples in reverse), but not too many things… I don’t need a coffeemaker that can do my laundry. Out of curiosity, do you really feel you need the Microcosm with all the effects built in to the XT? I look forward to you disagreeing with me on all kinds of things. If you are ever in Denver, Colorado area I’m happy to get you a beer, coffee, coke, water, whatever.
Cool tutorial, thanks. Had my Oxi for a little while but only started playing with stochastic sequencer for first time last night. Love your idea of using 2 others with a slow speed to play chords. Will be giving that a go tonight. Cheers
Is the melody actually being sampled and played in the Digitakt sequencer or just playing from the modular while the drums are playing at the same time?
Nice. Have you tried to use the new features in the sampler that allows you to record exactly the amount of steps you want? Its pretty cool and actually works great
Terrific video. I've currently got a MiniFreak, but I've realized that I'll never learn to play piano well enough to really enjoy it , so I've been looking at either Stepic for VSTs (I have Pigments and Analog lab) or picking up a Digitakt to be more "experimental" in my approach. Does one offer more benefit than the other in your opinion for Tangerine Dream, Harold Budd, or even Depeche Mode types of pieces? Would you start with Stepic or does the Digitakt offer enough over it to warrant just diving in and starting there? Thanks!
I'm always happy to see more people using the O_C for interfacing with various gear! I'll have to investigate the USB OTG adapter idea - seems like there was some fundamental limitation preventing it from working, but maybe not? 🤔
Yeah, I'm not entirely sure. I came across this thread (forum.pjrc.com/index.php?threads/teensy-3-x-native-usb-host-preview-available.28173/) which indicates Teensy could be put into a USB Host mode and speak MIDI at the same time. But it's unclear if it would be able to automatically negotiate being the host vs just a controller.
I have yet to see a video where an Elektron device is NOT set to UNTITLED lol. That being said, I really enjoyed this demonstration and subscribed for more fun.
They should simply propose a VA engine , i have a syntakt , and was considering the digitone for polyphony , but man the level of gymnastic to make to have simple analog style is a shame ... Makes full sens for FM and complex sounds , but for simple sounds ....it defies the purpose of simplicity ...
Very nice! I’ve been want to do a similar set up. Can you please share your routing? I’m newer to the modular realm. How did you hook up Marbles to Digitone?
