I'm Alistair, a freelance automotive and technology journalist based in London. This channel is very much a hobby more than a revenue stream, but a hobby I should really put more time into. That's the plan for 2021 - more videos. They will be cars, of course, and it will be somewhat electric. Think a Ferrari 250 SWB one week and an EV the next.
This is not a revenue stream for me and I'm producing these videos with little more than a GoPro, iPhone and iMovie. That said, constructive feedback is more than welcome!
The price is TOO high. You can buy a donor MINI for less than £6.5k, then get the electric conversion kit from the the now many suppliers world-wide. You have loads of interior and exterior parts to choose from. All less than $£50k. So that £150k price tag is unrealistic for us mere mortals.😂
really nice video! wonder why the color of the speed meter changes from green to white at 4'00? it there a eco mode or something? looking forward to your reply😉
Very nice package inside and out! The mirrors have a great design, the cabin despite being sporty in some elements it's also elegante and very swedish! Well done!!
You can vary the heater temperature. It doesn’t get hot in the cabin in the summer. The clutch is normal. The hood works well. The headlights are perfectly good. A tonneau is very useful to secure the cabin & even when driving along covering the passenger seat. The buzz from driving the car is the biggest buzz ever.
I thought so too before I bought one, but you don't really need it. First of all, the wind takes care of any water droplets on the window when you drive. And if you really need to look behind you without the side mirrors, there's a camera button that turns the entire widescreen display into a "rear mirror" when you drive. And on the occasions where the window is too dirty, just clean it once in a while.
Attention, according to new judgments and changes in EU and Gernan construction law, it may happen that deregistered cars, classic cars and even vehicles with seasonal license plates are no longer allowed to be stored in garages. The municipalities need money and send inspectors around to check whether work is being done in garages or whether deregistered classic cars are parked. ...that can cost up to 10,000 euros! It is even planned that in the future (unregistered) vehicles and trailers parked in the garden (outside garages) will be defined as structures for which building authorities will then require building applications and permits (and of course not grant them!); there will be a network of vehicle registration offices and building regulations offices take place so that building permits are requested by car owners as soon as they are deregistered.
My highway range at 100kph is between 280 miles and 295 in Eco mode with and without hvac. You can turn off lots of things to suit yourself. My AWD 20 inch wheel version is better than expected.
Nice video! Those "carbon seats" do not come supplied with the R pack. They're currently a £1200 option. The standard lights are indeed pretty poor. Caterham offer LED lights as a £800 option.
Dont feel guilty about your love of cars, they allow you to turn a trip into an adventure. After work one night when we were exhausted from closing after a busy shift, two coworkers asked me for a ride home. We started joking about work and the stuff we would rather do. Kathy said as soon as she falls asleep she was going to dream about being on a beach relaxing to the sound of the waves coming in. That turned into a road trip to the Connecticut shore. Three teenagers in fast food uniforms sleeping on the beach and waking up at sunrise by a slobbering dog too willing to lick people. When we meet up now all of these years later, the memory of that trip always comes up. I still have the Volvo 1800 S that got us there and back, and they always ask about it. In the beginning of the last century, Mr Rockefeller lobbied to have the worlds second most plentiful resource called a fossil fuel. The reason? To make it sound rare and limited to be able to sell it at a reasonable profit. Should we be enviromentally conscious? Of course, but we should also be aware of scams like climate change that are designed by people like Mr Rockefeller to make money off of us. In the 1970's it was global cooling, the 1990's global warming. Temps didnt keep going up and it morphed into climate change. Why? Follow the money.
Great video! I'm going to Goodwood Festival of speed this June and was thinking to hire Caterham seven from Heathrow airport. Do you guys thinks that's possible? Thanks :)
