Crook raps like he is from the east coast even though he is from the west and that is what makes him unique. It kind of reminds me of The Pharcyde being from Oakland but the style of rap was more east coast

at the time that the Control verse dropped, Lupe might have been the best lyricist to ever touch a mic. but that was 10 years ago. both Kendrick and Eminem have evolved since then, and if he hasn't been keeping up privately, he can't even be in the discussion anymore. Dot & Em, in that order. i don't know who's 3rd.
Well good thing Lupe has kept up cause he has also evolved and still one of the top lyricist. I put him over Em and Dot lyrically. Lupe is on tour with his new album and droppin loosies. Saying "if he hasn't been keeping up privately, he can't even be in the discussion anymore." is insane to me cause there are Lupe tracks from 10 years that neither Em or Dot have touched lyrically imo. I dont even think Dot needs or wants to be that complex or abstract of a lyricist anyway
