Hi ^.^ my channel is mainly cute crochet tutorials. I'll make amigurumi, accessories, and clothes. There may also be knitting, craft with me, yarn reviews and more!
To your point about mass clothing being produced, it is usually low quality and has to be tossed after just a few wears. Your pieces would last much longer than this and help prevent someone from buying unethical fast fashion if they had this alternative. Great idea for a business!
Hey, regarding 5:12 if you ever want to publish a book with patterns and need someone to make the layout, cover, and have it published by an actual book publisher (technically true), hmu.
Hi, thanks, but it will be a long time before I get to that point! I'm starting with free patterns until I'm satisfied with my pattern writing skills; then, I'll move on to pdf download patterns if I can create unique/original enough designs :) Eventually though, I will compile a collection of cellular automata inspired patterns!
I would have sworn i had commented on this, but when i came back to look, it was missing. I intended to suggest that you might be able to apply either Auto Tiling via Bitmasking, or some sort of constraint like Wave Function Collapse to resolve the mosiac problem. You can encode fairly complex rules in WFC especially. They both have plenty of details on implementations all over the internet.
Cool video! The problem of generating a mosaic pattern that looks like the original pattern is certainly an interesting problem. I have some math+CS skill, so I will think about it!
As others have pointed out something in the RU-vid algorithm must have changed recently, and I appreciate it greatly. Also I'm a mathematician. And a little confused by the rules, could you maybe make a short video explaining how you created the mosaic chart by hand and why you made the choices you did?
Hi there! Mosaic is a niche color work technique where the user typically follows a mosaic chart, but the chart has to follow the 2 rules to work with the mosaic technique. To make the 2 rules make more sense, I'll define a column as blocks that are consecutively the same color. Then each row will be labeled as a black or white row where the colors alternate. From here, we can define the two rules that make a chart mosaic crochet-able. Rule one is that every column of cells must begin on its own row color. Rule two is that every column must have an odd number of cells. I hope this helps! But if not, I also have a video linked in the description where I try to go in depth on how the rules work :)
@@milkteadesigns-bt1hk Oh perfect, thank you, I didn't notice the video in the description. Are you opposed at all to scaling the entire design by a factor of 2? so that each pixel of the original pattern is a 2x2 block? That does seem to make the whole process more mechanical, all that you have to do is decide how to transition along the diagonals. For example: ■■■■■□□□□□□□□□□□□■■■■■ □■■□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□■■□ ■■■□□□■■■■■■■■■■□□□■■■ □□□□□□■□□□□□□□□■□□□□□□ ■□□□■■■□□□□□□□□■■■□□□■ □□□□■■□□□□□□□□□□■■□□□□ ■□□■■■□□□□■■□□□□■■■□□■ □□□■■□□□□□■■□□□□□■■□□□ ■□□■■□□□■■■■■■□□□■■□□■ □□□■■□□□□□■■□□□□□■■□□□ ■□□■■■□□□□■■□□□□■■■□□■ □□□□■■□□□□□□□□□□■■□□□□ ■□□□■■■□□□□□□□□■■■□□□■ □□□□□□■□□□□□□□□■□□□□□□ ■■■□□□■■■■■■■■■■□□□■■■ □■■□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□□■■□ ■■■■■□□□□□□□□□□□□■■■■■ But if the scaling up trick isn't allowed then I think it is a difficult thing to describe what a "good" interpretation of the pattern looks like exactly in general. It's funny, in things like this the problem is often that there aren't enough constraints to analyze the problem mathematically, and that's often where creativity can start creeping in.

I would think this is possible to do in a script, I'll have to think about it. 5:30 Is that a necessary component? I have some of them, but they're not fully black.
Hahaha, luckily not a necessary component ;) If you have any ideas for a script, I would be very happy to hear them! My main thought is how possible it would be for the script to maintain a similar look to the original design of the cellular automata...
I think it shouldn't be too difficult to convert to a crochet pattern. I don't crochet myself, so I'm not familiar with it. Rule 2 I understand, but I don't really know what rule 1 means. Or why these rules are the way they are. How did you convert the one yourself, what were the steps?

@@milkteadesigns-bt1hk Thanks, yes, I was just watching your other video now. I'm more of a cross-stitch guy myself, but I do like the look of this as well.
@@DaedalusYoung oooh just the other day when I was telling a cross stitching friend about this project, she thought cross stitch would be another great application for cellular automata!
this popped up on my recommended and although i know nothing about crochet, this was an unexpectedly cool application of cellular automata! love seeing videos like this with small views on a niche topic get attention from the algorithm
I crocheted this tiny backpack for a rave I went to. My outfit had no pockets, and only tiny bags were allowed at the venue. This fit just my phone, ID, and earplugs ;) I made the button pretty big for the hole size, so it would feel secure; then I also wore it with the large mushroom side facing out for more security. The straps are adjustable by just retying the bows, so there's options to wear it loose or tight against your back for more comfort when jumping up and down and dancing :) I hope you like this concept for all my loves and queens rocking their outfits that don't have pockets 💓💓💓
I'm a middle aged doctor in rural Australia, and somehow got recommended this video. I'm so glad I did! Cool use of novel technology, I'm looking forward to seeing what else you think up 😊
Wow I love how the youtube algorithm can give random recommendations for new channels! I'm glad you found the video interesting; I'm looking forward to exploring this topic more in depth! ;)
I just found your channel and girl you are SEVERELY under pricing your items, I would pay $10 for the mini octopuses !! Mushrooms have got to be at least $15, I know you’re just starting out but still, congrats !! Would you happen to have an Etsy ? 🤭
Haha looking back, I do think I could have charged more, and thank you!!! I don't have an Etsy set up yet, but it's in my plans to set up within the next few months! ;)
Hi! I am a 11 year old crocheter in Sweden, and I just found your channel 💜 I subscribed to your channel and really love your videos! I will tell my friends about your channel so I can help you grow this fantastic crochet channel 💜 💜💙💙
Ok, you’re adorable. I didn’t even see any imperfections in your sweaters when you first showed them lol they looked great to me!!! I do not know how to knit. I learned crochet 3mths ago lol I have not made any clothes I just do Amigurumi at the moment. I don’t think I have the patience/focus for a big piece like that
Yasssss! Congrats on a successful market!! Woohoo!! So happy for you :) your items look great. Haha that’s exactly my thoughts (as long as I sell one item at my first market I’ll be happy) lol oh a sprout I grabbed that pattern yes doesn’t take long lol nice to meet you, I’m Ash :) ❤
I love the clouds! You could take them to the next level if you found some tear drop shaped beads to hang under them to make it look like rain, and than make some kind of way to hang them..like from a car mirror or on a back pack. It would be a lot of work but a group of clouds together made into a hanging mobile would be real nice...people might spend the big bucks on a unique handmade baby shower gift like that. Best wishes on you business.
@@milkteadesigns-bt1hk I thought of another idea for your cloud design...if you made them into a wearable brooch pins, just using smaller yarn and little raindrop beads, That would be so cute!.. people will pay more for jewelry. Fun, fun...I wish I had more time to crochet.
