They way that light breeze was already flexing it, a couple bad storms and I see repairs in his future or a warped looking fence.

He should have just put up a privacy fence, don’t like how the wire is loose and not tensioned and nothing is securing the aluminum strips to the fence, or atleast that was viewed on the video. But to each their own, keep on fencing 💪

I dislike it if you're going to be putting plants up against it. The sun will heat that up and reflect off of it onto the plant. Perhaps scalding the plants.

Put Tannerite at the bottom so when you need to clear it you can just blow out the dirt. Make sure to you use a ball bearings or a marble to seal the explosive from the elements.

You could use a piece of junk Auger bit that you usually use to anchor trees to drill out those PVC pipes when they get full of junk.

I love your videos but I have to disagree with both the mitered joints and the notches he did in this video. Gluing end grain provides very little structural support. You get the most holding power by gluing perpendicular grain (and screwing as well). A half lap joint would be the best option and it would give some amazing lateral and vertical support because of how much surface area is being glued (assuming your half laps are done on the wider face of the 2x4).

It is amazing how many "professional" fence installers do not properly construct the holes/foundations for the fence posts, even in commercial settings. I live in the Midwest (Indiana), and if your holes aren't deep enough they are at high risk of heaving. I've done forensic investigations on failed fences and the biggest culprit is that the holes they dug actually were smaller diameter at the bottom....that is a sure fire recipe for heaving. Soil will spit those posts out no problem in a few years. In summary, if you can bell your foundations at or below frost depth, you should be good to go. The next best thing is to install them at least 6" past frost depth, and make the sidewalls of the hole perfectly vertical.

Non mixed concrete will harden but concrete has a psi rating and if not mixed it will not reach that psi rating.
