Born in Pakistan, built in England, roots in Turkiye. Taking baby-steps to see the world's best and baddest cities before I meet my maker.
A brother from another mother once said to me.........................
"Solvitur Ambulando"
Meaning "it is solved by walking / walking helps us find the solution". After the pandemic I needed to change my outlook and where my life was going. Like many I felt a change was necessary.

@martine8174 My pleasure, thank you for watching. So glad u made the move. London really has changed and not for the better. The 80's were the best ever
@@Roamingree I have pretty good memories of valentines park and Ilford town centre when it had the department stores and pioneer market . Little kid then but I remember it well. Exchange opening was a big deal! An actual mall haha I go back and visit and Wanstead and Walthamstow are decent. Agreed Ilford and goodmayes are not doing well
@martine8174 I was always really fond of Ilford. But far too many changes. I remember it best b4 the Exchange. Haven't been to Wanstead in years. Wonder how much it's changed Went Walthamstow a couple of times recently. Once for the so called Patriots/EDL March. Then to see the market. Pleasantly surprised on both occasions. Walthamstow shows its making a comeback. People came out in force against racism and the market was better than afew years ago. There may be hope for the Stow 😂
@iconicetiquette4546 it sure does. It's amazing ppl crying about diversity and immigration but it's only concentrated in small areas. Not much once u get out of these areas.
@iconicetiquette4546 honestly it feels like a different world. My parents bought in East Ham in mid 60's for roughly £900, which was life changing money back then. Truly unbelievable. Upton Lane use to know it well
@rizmahd I know the BMW showroom is very busy, they also did motorbikes. Unless something top end exclusive opens, can't see any business surviving too long.
@TheIvanMilky I know what u mean, the funny thing is the film was made in 2005, I think and set in 2027. We ain't exactly far off on how society has dropped.
@stevepoulton8826 Unfortunately that's all over London. What gets me is how ppl have changed becoming more entitled and greedy. London was never like that
Yes my brother I’ve been in Eastham since 1997 everything is a stone throw away they used to have some really good shops down this high street Ravel,M&S k shoes,Dune&co,Daisy,BHS,Woolworth,Robins and so much more now its a DUMP I know 3 people including me we had our phones pickpocketed its all Eastern Europeans they’ve got nothing else better to do than to stand around looking for a target to pick on Standing around a bin eating pumpkin seeds and doing F-k All yes exactly nothing but betting shops its a Sh-t Hole.
@Caspar563 I loved living in East Ham, and as you said, everything was on my doorstep, probably would've never moved if the schooling was better. You're exactly right on what you say about East Ham. It was great for shopping, Remember when Mr Byrite opened 😂, Ravel and Dolcis were my go to for shoes. Now it's a real dump. Nothing, except cheap shops and the whole area looked dirty. I was surprised there weren't many Eastern Europeans on the High St, but there were afew groups hanging down the side roads. Beggers and Bookies go hand in hand. Thanks for the comment, brother.
I remember there used to be some good shops in Ilford Zoo,harrison gibson, zee&co anyone remember Mark Gabel there was another 2 that I used to visit one opposite the town hall all gone even Ilford lane still busy not as bad as East ham hey anyone remember pioneer market?
@Caspar563 Yes, I remember all the shops u mentioned, even the small pioneer market now, the big pioneer point building. The shopping was so good, hence ilford was known as the West End of the East End. It's just cheap shops now. Ilford Lane has grown, whereas East Ham has declined, badly.
@cedricemmanuel2082 I tried at the Gants Hill synagogue but they didn't like the area to b filmed, so I had to respect their wishes. It's the only religious building that had security walking the perimeter.
Grew up around Feltham/Hounslow/ Heston, used to go to Southall a fair bit back then (about 30 years ago), and your video really brought back the old memories...peace 🙂.
@Rajesh-q6l4t Exactly all these flats going up, that will b sold for a top price but where's the infrastructure coming from. The area will need schools, surgeries, hospitals, better transport systems, roads, parking and most importantly employment. Thanks for the comment.
Yeah they're really spent a lot of money on the old cinema. It was being used as a church for a while before becoming empty again and it's nice to see new life breathed into it again.
@IlfordRetro I didn't realise it was used as a church. I know it was closed for ages. It was such an impressive building, like yourself I'm just glad something is about to open. I really hope it breaths new life in the whole area.
@vjamesg100 Honestly mate, I've seen better towns and cities in some so called third world country. Definitely better, more friendly and compassion people.
I can remember when there was still prefabs just past there towards Barking where the A406. is now can't say i spent much time in East Ham but i can remember getting dragged around the C&A there when i was a kid.
@timfish4175 The A406 runs through my old schools football fields. Then the hotel was built with MFI retail park. All that's gone, more flats afraid. I loved C&A, growing up, it was like having a West End style store locally. The building, location and style were iconic 😂
good video, i have not been there for years , i didn't know it was still there , i might pop down there one day , after I check out the review first THANKS
@MalcolmJames-sg3zg Thank you for your comment. It's been very tough for street markets throughout the UK, with many closing down. I glad Walthamstow has survived but sadly it's only a shadow of it's former glory. I actually believe it will get better.
