I'm from Wicklow myself, I moved to Australia many many years ago, you can see the gold we get over here in my profile pic, if I ever get back there I'll have to go have a pan
Like watching your channel, your finding gold, theirs a mother loade somewhere reckon id have a good chance if only metal detecting was legal in Ireland, get the kid's interested in looking for gold or historical finds instead of hanging around at the risk of getting involved in drugs or crime, rather have them detecting ☘️💚
It’s illegal to use a metal detector with the intention to seek out items of architectural significance. It’s all about intention, it’s a mess where as in England you congratulated and paid for it. Over here you get handcuffs. So let’s leave it in the ground and let a farmer destroy it with a plough my mistake because it wasn’t known to be there.
ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-St9Uiy_7UVM.htmlsi=qa_nx42w37I3lJ-S I was in the sperrins today and trying to find where this was , if the link doesn’t work it’s rte 1983 Mike Murphy with Jimmy Brennan gold Co Tyrone , tried a couple of rivers but nothing similar. I am going to go back to a few different locations
This was a long time ago and was for tv, those nuggets don’t look native to Northern Ireland they look more like what you’d find in Alaska. I’d say he was finding gold but much smaller and the tv company brought those nuggets with them to put in the pan. I’ve seen Northern Ireland gold nuggets they have a lot of brown from iron on them. These don’t look like that. Given the size of the river it’s likely to be up in the hills at the first point where the valley levels out. Like ok behind him you see a fence and he is walking on lush grass so this means it’s farm land. So what do we know: your looking for a small river where the elevation settles out with no walls to the valley right beside the river, your looking for farm land, you want a narrow 10ft wide river, watch the video a few times and see if you can spot sun or shadows so you can determine the direction the river travels so if sun is to the left then river travels north south. Read as many reports you can find about Jimmy Brennan and the word gold, look not on google buy google books. Happy info hunting
@@GoldPanningIRE thanks for the info , I was outside greencastle Co Tyrone , not to far from the dalradian gold mine but when you travel northeast from there towards cookstown there are a couple of valley streams , when they are on someones land I feel awkward going to them lol I panned down to black sand but didn’t see anything but pyrite
A mini highbanker with an easy to remove micro mat in the crash box and mini mat for the rest. 2000L bilge on a lithium battery. Best test rig ive ever had👍👌🇦🇺
That’s all sounds great and I would buy one tomorrow except we are not allowed to use anything mechanised which includes pumps and trommels. Even bilge pumps are banned.
I’ve been doing this since 2010 so have plenty of experience If you’d like to join here is the link to my Facebook page where you can get in contact facebook.com/profile.php?id=100084011724781 I teach classes every Saturday
I trapped a nerve a few weeks ago so this week would be to soon as me and a buddy wanna do it but now I found you're channel im sure I'll be at the next 👊
suggestion: put your rock blocker on the outside of the hose head - not inside. Keeps it from clogging up big time. I bent some standard 5 gallon bucket handle metal and put that outside the hose head and it made it so much more user friendly. Where I am I can be up and running in about 2-3 minutes as there is more water and easier to sink the hose. Keep getting that gold brother. You can even wrap some mesh wire around the opening to keep bigger stuff from blocking it and use a clamp to keep it smooth. I also installed a Y at the end of my tubing (where the sluice is) so I diversify better in the sluice.
I found myself spending many hours dialling it in only to then be able to suck up dirt through a 1.25” hose. In the time it takes to setup and and run I’d be faster with a gravity fed highbanker. I’m getting a fabricator to make a me a custom 42” sluice that Can take 2x 6” mats in one go
I’ve a class this Saturday in avoca co Wicklow Details here: facebook.com/100084011724781/posts/pfbid02s9Pob1TbDRUcsQUZpuFVpLr8WQZeLFpQFZVXj947zhT1TMPiy1gBZJhpCifB5Mrbl/?
Wondered if you could give a newbie like me some advice. I have a small hand dredge fits in side me pack. My question is, would it still work if I connect on an extension to it so I am not bent over all day, like I am now. BTW I do have a long hand dredge also, but hate carrying it. Thanks again buddy.
You can put an extension on just make sure it’s a coupler that goes above pipe it’s so the inner pipe doesn’t hit the extension. The easiest way to carry a sucker tube is the cloth of a ratchet strap. Cut 2 pieces that will fit around the sucker tube. Then use a 1 meter bungie cord and carry the sucker on your shoulder like it’s a riffle
@@GoldPanningIRE take a narrow heavy rake and remove the cobbles from your spot. Then take a slotted spoon to remove the pebbles. Unless you rush it or have huge gold, all the fines should filter through as you are working it.Then suck up pre-classified dirt with your suction dredge and pan it out. It's not perfect, especially if there is sticky mud, but I do carry a lot less around with me, in and out, and there is a lot less lifting. Your mileage may vary.
I bought the Gold Claw production pan a few years ago, no need for buckets and classifiers when testing out new areas. I can move a lot of material quickly, and got pretty good at it now. But I know what you mean, it can be a back breaker so I use it just to make cons, and pan out at home. As I am still pretty new to this game, I only have a sluice and Garret pan so far, no high banker or strong back bone...lol
What a complete disaster, you could have run a good 10 bucket test through a sluice set in the friggin river. How many times are you going to mess about with this contraption it's foolish now bin it and do a video of your mining skills instead of all this crap
Well I suppose the main thing is when you fill a bucket you need to carry that bucket to the sluice then feed it. Where as I pick up gold bearing dirt, classify it, and sluice all in 1 action. This was filmed in December of last year and I’ve since started working on a new version to that can handle shovel loads of dirt.
@@GoldPanningIRE the main thing for me is get set up and run at least 10 buckets to try and get a good reading in the clean up . Sure look you're sucker tubing mostly water and blasting stuff everywhere
I like the yellow bucket set up with the sluice patruding, But i would use a bigger bucket like a tall boy type bring the slit up higher place a 4 inch tray underneath for firm base with the slit slightly higher the liquids will weight bucket tocthe tray flat surface, Nice way to sluice like a goose😂
Glad you like it, it’s really meant for when you’re in water that doesn’t have fast flowing water where a sluice can’t be setup. After all gold Prospecting is meant to be fun and I enjoy using this tool.
Nothing like a day out having the best time fresh air beautiful surroundings nature finding something millions of years old and saying yeap i done that with a good old bite of scram way to go😂❤
Pyrite also known as fools gold can often run with real gold but it’s trapped inside the host rock. So unless there is enough storms to weather away the gold down into the lower valley then maybe. But in general gold does not travel with coal
Here is a link to my Facebook page facebook.com/profile.php?id=100084011724781 Your detector is it a n800 by any chance as they are great for gold nuggets
I teach how to pan for gold, how to read rivers, the basics of geology in terms of what to look for gold, I provide all the equipment you will need. All you need to bring is wellies / waders and your own drinks / lunch. I provide everything else. I’ve been panning for gold since 2011, you will get 10 years of knowledge and experience in 1 day.
so can anyone explain county for county what the bylaws are seams frigging rediculouse the current national laws,in ireland we need to get across the fact ireland belongs to the people not the frigging national clonglomerits that prospect we need to get this issue sorted the gold does not belong to government but the people of ireland we are an unregulated republic not a regulated republic,,the gold in ireland belongs to the people of ireland not the government or the bloody conglomerits that have special dispensation, Flour Gold is produced from many millions of years created by the constant rock tumbling that takes place in our seas, streams, creeps, rivers its then brought to shore as black sand, We are not commercial prospecting we are sifting and recycling prospecting is when you dredge or hack at the facial mountainside, Rivers streams creeks beaches is a method of sifting and recycling where a small bilg pump supports water recycling thus not damaging or poluting,, We need to get new constructed laws for creative leassurely pursuits that supports driving the economy not destroying the fundamental right to prospect at a leisurely scale that allow everyone to enjoy such pursuits,. The gold does not belong to irish government it belongs to the people of ireland,,its time we got this across don't let government destroy our past heritage a fundamental freedom to leassurely pursue this fun leassurely activity, Ireland is loaded with treasures in abundance from sifting for flour gold to metal detecting its a super duper way to be constructive keeping the treasures found to bring alive our past history creating a vault of airlooms for future generations to learn from and enjoy.
The rules are the same county or country Pre 2014 we were’nt aloud to use a shovel and pan without a permit or mining license. If you go over the border there is no rules and you need permit from the crown which no one can get. I’m grateful we have rules we can stay within.
