The World’s Music at Oxford is a project run at the University of Oxford, which blends research into global musics with live performance. Our concerts are open to all students of the University and members of the general public.
The project, created in 2016, is run by postgraduate students researching a wide range of global musics. It aims to provide a platform for voices and musical styles rarely heard in Oxford and to build new links between the University and the general public.
Our events showcase renowned performers from the UK and abroad. During the performances, the musicians also explain the characteristics and contexts of the works they perform.
For the 2020-2021 season, all our concerts will be streamed live online so you can enjoy music from some of the most dynamic artists from all across the world while staying safe at home.

I'm 76 years old. Born and raised in Nashville TN. I come from a musical family and have been around music all my life. I've danced on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry. I've heard the best of the best and I can say, without a doubt, Nokosee Fields is one of the best (if not the best) fiddle players I have ever heard! He plays these old tunes the way they were meant to be played. Most so called fiddlers play like their asses are on fire but, that's not the way these tunes were done originally. Do yourself a favor and find everything by him you can get your hands on!
Predivno dira dusu svakog ljudskog bica koja poseduje emociju ,posebno je to vrsta energije koja tezi doci do izrazaja u svetu prepunom ne shvatanja i poimanja sta znaci biti biti "duhovan" ziveti u skladu sa duhom i to je to ,srce i dusa zive u skladu sa dusama samo onih koji u istom taktu,sve drugo je neprepoznatljivo!!!Mislim da je tu srz svega u ljubavi i patnji bez toga nema inspiracije??? Ili???Mozda bi ( virtuoz Branko ) da je rodjen u nekoj drugoj zemlji imao sve ali me odmah spopadose druge misli - " Da li bi tada imao viziju i i spiraciju,borbu i sve ostalo ili bi bio neko drugi " mislim da bi sam izabrao bas ovaj put ,tezak,ali ima srecu nasao je zenu koja ga prati u stopu ali opet ,sta sad ne valja? Hmmm ,sve je u redu,samo ( bebica) e to bi upotpunilo sve... Zelim vam dug i srecan zivot Franko imas zenu koj a te ocigledno voli ali nemojte dopustiti kao mnogi da vam se zatre trag ,moras imati na umu da se sve prenosi sa kolena na koleno uzaludna je tvoja misija na ovoj planeti bez potomaka,zvuci grubo ,ali ti to sam najbolje znas "to be or not to be ...) a kome se radovati ,a kome podeliti ili....? As a native of the Ozarks, descendant of Appalachia and Ireland and a handful of other places, it’s such a pleasant surprise to stumble across this on a channel out of Oxford. Thank you for sharing. Nokosee’s coming to my town this spring and I wouldn’t miss that show for the world!
