The Stockholm University Baltic Sea Centre consists of a unique combination of experts and communicators who collaborate with a wide network of marine scientists to improve knowledge about the Baltic Sea and help society handle its marine environmental problems. We are a link between science and management, and synthesise and distribute scientific results to the right audience in society.
Ukraina är Korrupt 24/7 sedan World War II
Generally speaking - no, it cannot. Smell is a human sense, which itself cannot impact anything but how you perceive certain odors in your olfactory system. It is the same as to ask "can human vision impact climate". No, it cannot. It is a wrong question to ask. Moreover - individual variations in sensory perception may create a dichotomy when a distinct smell is perceived in two different ways (someone enjoys certain smells, while others find it repelling). A better, though with obvious flaws, question could be: "Can our nose help indentifying the status of the see?" But then again, I doubt that a reviewer would agree with measurement campaign results, where the main instrument was A NOSE... Sorry.

The conclusion seems to be yet again - we need better protection for coastal areas in the Baltic Sea. Another policy brief from the Baltic Sea Centre comes to mind: "Raising quality of marine protection". As of now, Marine Protected Areas still do not restrict human acitivies by far as much as would be needed, e.g. to protect a degrading seagrass meadow. Not just for Blue Carbon, but for restoration of our declining herring and cod populations (and all other reasons mentioned in the talk). Seagrass meadows and macro-algae areas are fish nurseries that will be very important in years to come. EU policy changes (or national, independent policy initiatives) are required here if we want to protect our coasts, and it is urgent. I'm really curious to know how the MPA policy-work is progressing so far in the EU.
Global Warming vs Cooling: Whenever the ‘Milankovitch cycle’ increases the the amount of sunlight energy striking the surface of the Earth, this causes the ‘carbon cycle’ to begin releasing more CO2 into the biosphere - which, in turn, amplifies the natural warming. When the Milankovitch cycle decreases the amount of sunlight hitting the face of the Earth, then CO2 levels gradually decrease and the ‘greenhouse effect’ is weakened. However, when large amounts of greenhouse gases are dumped into the biosphere by events such as large igneous provinces (LIPs) or the massive burning of fossil fuels by humans, then the amplification factor of the greenhouse effect is strengthened significantly. If you’re in an ice age, it might be beneficial; however, when you’re in an interglacial period such as we are, then it becomes detrimental.
