Thank you for posting this. It really highlights the unique tonal quality of the lignum guitar. These are both such beautiful instruments and your playing is inspiring.
I traded my friend for 55 years. The Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins my father bought for me back in 1969 with a 1937 Gibson Acoustic. Best deal of my life When are you moving your shop to İstanbul? A nice place on Prince's İslands will suit you fine :)))
Thank you. Yes. It's a handcarved top with one diagonal brace. The top, neck and fretboard are padauk. The back is a soft asian maple. It's still for sale but it's all taken apart at the moment.
What a a big beauty! It would be great to play an instrument you made sometime. Or why not even own one, you know ;) You inspire me again, also with your playing, so I absolutely have to make Lush Life myself and why not also the first song you played, which annoyingly I can't get my head around. If the words meant as much to me as the melody possibly came to my mind, but now I can't remember any words... ;D
Many thanks again. This will be on sale soon on reverb. Just gotta finish the shellac on it. For you, old friend discount! Can't wait to hear your lush life!
@@bloodyciocanel That was it! Somehow it occurred to me that it was related to the end of World War II. Yes, it sung by Bing Crosby with Les Paul on guitar.
You are the best!!! The third listening time tells the truth! ;D I especially enjoyed the ending, which arrived at the theme of the beginning with a "now I've said what I need to say" moment. (In fact, it must have been the fifth time already.) . Thanks for sharing. I appreciate a lot.
Just a little improv on a banjo I fixed, didn't have a thin string so I put an 11 on for the 1st. Tuned a weird Eac#G. In the end I felt I lost the... Groove...
In addition to the fact that your playing is versatile, interesting and very original and challenging, but especially deep and soulful...I love the way you approach music and playing and your guitars, which I think are absolutely great in their originality. It would be nice to be able to play them sometime and maybe jam together. ;) Thank you so much for sharing this! You brought joy to my day.
Many thanks man. I am way below your level. I am an amateur, you are definitely an accomplished musician. And thank you for all that SoundCloud music and your new RU-vid lessons!
Hi, i live in Montreal, Quebec, and came across your channel by chance, looking for a 12 fret. I listened to your 3 guitars and your Bach interpretations and am impressed by both. I'm leaning towards the 12 fret, was going to ask if you accepted offers on it. Much thanks.
The 12 fret om I have on reverb? It's got an expensive kk trinity pro mounted so I can't drop much. I can do 1050 case and shipping included if we cut reverb out of it, cause they take like 100 dollars, and do PayPal.
Thanks. If i decide to take it we'll do Paypal, sure. The k & K is a good system, tried one on a classical and liked it. Does placing the sound hole on the side act as a sort of monitor for the player? Does it come at the expense of less sound being projected towards the audience?@@bloodyciocanel
@@gilbertachsen4734 I remember Bills telling a story about somogyi and someone else doing some tests with live backs and sound side holes and normal guitars and there wasn't any difference. The soundboard produces most of the frequencies...
very much a shining overlook cabin feverish kind of vibration, you maybe should have looped it. then ad-lib'd some weird screeches like Wendy did on her intro to The Shining .. where that car is winding it's way up to the Hotel very odd and disturbing, she set's the mood. nice use of that gr-09 by the way.. yes very nice. had a go at something similar with my gr-55 ..not easy to get that sound of foreboding and menace what Wendy Carlos got had a try to copy it with some loopering (a fail), sounds easy, but isn't, lot's of perfectly spliced tape in varouse layers which put a damper on my puny effort. that sound you got was plonked into the gr-55. (i guess that how boss make their money reusing all their old naff sounds lock stock and barrel stuff from the the 70s ..compare 09 sound library to that of 55 then go look at their 70s data and most will be identical just a con ):-¬( all the factory sounds
I got the arrangement from the internet, I still gotta work on it, both the guitar and the tune.... will do another take when I put the flat strings on and better pickup
Wow what a wonderful instrument and tone! just wow im never jealous but this guitar you have build is just criminal amazing! I feel the power of the tones through my phone! Great Kenny rendition also ❤ Great build and music taste brother! Cheers
@@bloodyciocanel I just noticed your T-shirt now...Killer 😆!!! I don't have a version (yet) 😉 Thank you for your nice words about my playing, but I am also an amateur and with great pleasure. You know, it means a person who does the work or hobby he loves.
