Very moving tribute! Thank you Honourable MP Marles. That goes to show the very close relationship that Australians and Papua New Guineans enjoy to this day...

Thank you Australia, though you have given us independence, today we still rely on Australia, we have so many Papua new Guineans today studying in Australia and some come back home and give back to our country the knowledge you have trained them with. Also for the AUSAID funding throughout the country. Beautiful speech as well and AMATOI'EE Australia. I am so thankful and grateful to Australia over the years for being there for our country........GOD BLESS AUSTRALIA......AND PNG.

Hi Richard, I personally think this was a fantastic speech. I think the things you talked about could really bring some excitement to Labor's campaign going to the next election. Have you thought about perhaps cutting this down to some good soundbytes and sending this over Labor social network channels? I think there are some really great points about investment in science bringing more jobs back to the country, and that's a good point that most people would agree on.

Thank you for putting this out there Richard. Actually talking about a realistic and well considered path for this country's future makes a difference. So many of us are tired of promises and rhetoric without substance or vision, we've just given up on governments to lead us anywhere other than to the next election. Back in August 2020, UQ hosted a discussion: "ChangeMakers: A new global economy - Are we entering a new industrial revolution?" The thoughts of the panel and in particular Andrew Liveris were refreshing and positive and well worth the time to watch. The concept of complete and fully integrated, collaborative environment for invention to production to market, with government providing supportive, future focussed policies, is well worth considering. From the content of your talk, I would consider it complementary to Labor's vision

A commendable speech by Richard Marles MP. I am a Forgotten Australian. However, 5 years on from the Official Apology 16th November 2009, it is somewhat disappointing to note that this video clip has only had 36 views over the past few months. Also, that the only speaker from 2009 still in office is Malcolm Turnbull, who was visibly moved by the occasion. What's happening now that all surviving Forgotten Australians are aging, and retirement ages are being extended. Are WE being FORGOTTEN again ? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UMSQNSGwbKM.html
