I am traveling to Vienna next week and was hoping you can tell me what mountain bike trails are close to the 10th district. In addition, which trails are closest to the city center? I will be visiting a friend who is not a mountain biker but might try it with me if we can rent either mountain bikes or hybrid bikes. Since he is not a mountain biker (yet) I need recommendations for very easy trails. Can you bring bikes on the public transportation? Thanks and I look forward to more of your videos! I heard Austria is working on new laws to make mountain biking legal in more places. Currently, are there many legal mountain bike trails in and around Vienna?
@@kosmobytes Are there any places to legally ride in the winter or are all trails closed between November and March? I was wondering what the reason is for closing the trails if there's no snow or hazardous conditions?
As far as I know, riding is banned on all mountain bike routes in and around Vienna in the winter. Reasons for this could be wildlife protection, damage to the trails and insurance reasons for the trail keepers.
Yes, I can highly recommend it. You don't see it that much in the video, but the trail has some very steep forest sections. I used a hardtail e-bike, but full suspension would be even more fun for this reason. More videos to come of this beautiful circuit 🙂
Thank you for your reply. Vienna seems to have a wide variety of trail types, from simple dirt paths to very technical downhill trails! From what I can see, the trail system is extensive and you can ride great distances. It's a biking paradise!!! @@kosmobytes

I greatly appreciate and enjoy all your wonderful videos. They give me good insight into what biking is like in Vienna, where my husband and I will most likely be moving to in the future. We are primarily mountain bikers but also enjoy riding on paths like in your video. From your videos, it seems like Vienna has a great infrastructure for biking, especially on safe paths without cars. Would you happen to know if Vienna has more paths (without cars) for bikers than Salzburg? Also, do you ever do any mountain biking in the Wienerwald, and if so, will you be doing videos on that? Thank you again for watching my videos! I guess Vienna has much more paths for bikers because it is also the much bigger city. But there is a good infrastructure in both cities. Yes, I have also filmed mountain bike trails in the Wienerwald. I will upload them in autumn : )

What a fantastic video with amazing views! I enjoy hearing the hum of the tires. Many cycling videos are often ruined by loud music, which might not appeal to all. My husband and I are mountain bikers who will be moving to Vienna. In addition to mountain biking, we'd like to ride on paths like in this video. Our mountain bikes are full suspension trail bikes, so we need to get bikes suitable for this type of riding. Do you recommend a hardtail mountain bike or a hybrid?
