Caution: The A string broke today after two weeks, at the end where I tied a knot for the bridge. I used the method Aquila shows, tuning it very carefully outside of the nut slot and popping it in there when the tuning was reached.
Well it sounds nice I've never had a ukulele and I came across this one and it looks really unique you can go down a rabbit hole for different brands of ukuleles a few different brands I've come across on the internet different price ranges Cordova 15 TM Tenor one made by caramel 26 inch zebra wood lots of goodies for 100 bucks Enya has some nice looking ukuleles Epiphone hummingbird one that seemed good bang for the buck is the ukulele called Hola professional series solid spruce top bundle package 27 inches strap gig bag then Kala teak tri cutaway bundle package 139 Oscar Schmidt make someone's call the comfort series supposed to be good with bigger hands then a ranch tenor ukulele one of the cheaper ones $79.99 it said professional beginner so if you had any of these ukuleles and you got any kind of input I would appreciate it thank you or any recommendations Dan Bohland Wisconsin
@@danielbohland5271 it is a rabbithole indeed. First I think you should figure out what kind of size you want (soprano, concert, tenor or baritone). There are a lot of videos on youtube about that. Better is to try them out in a store and buy one that is to your liking.
Thanks! I don’t know the chord names because I detuned the strings a half step. But the shapes are simple: A 0-0-2-0 E 2-1-0-0 C 2-2-0-0 G 0-0-0-2 Hope this helps.
FreeTheInternets Why not use Fender's new 24-100 Gauge Bass VI Strings? Fender made some refinements to their 250B6 String set by bumping up the gauges of the 3 Bass Strings (D, A, & Low E) by a significant amount.
I imagine that if they made the neck a bit wider, those strings designed for E Standard Tuning down an Octave would have more room to vibrate. They're now 24-100s
Thank you for posting. I rarely play my VI bass owing to the sloppiness of the standard strings, they didn't make the fingerboard wide enough for them. I'm going to give baritones a try.
great video dude. If you ever get time send me a message on how to tune this for this sound. I'm working on a spaghetti western piece and this is right between baritone and bass. I love it.
Thanks for the video. I am so going to do the same. I don't need VI e to e tuned anymore for the band so b to b would suit better when I play on my own. Cheers
Can I ask how you send a 4-bar loop to the Volca Bass? Is it just a MIDI clip triggering the Vbeats or an external editing software, or a feature of the Bass itself? Love the tune, Thanks!
Chance Duran well it stayed in sync for the length of this video. but i can't remember which devices were set to slave/master when it comes to midi, that took a couple of times to get it all sync'ed up.
Then... Dont you use insert inputs of your mixers but fx send? i dont understand how do you connect all to your mixer and use sidechain compression. any schema¿?
Adrián Martinez no inserts. the FX send from my mixer goes to the sidechain input on the compressor. Then I send one of the two channels that the volca beats is on to the FX send.
Good job. Everyone seems to hate these things. But I think the fun of making music is getting great sounds out of anything you can get your hands on. A bad workman always blames his tools.
