Did pretty well for a near standard setup and no lockers. The only point it needed assistance was through logans crossing, it wasn't necessary but we towed it as a precaution. Definitely more than capable for doing the trip!
This is what I am looking to do with my LC (when I get one). Do you know if anyone has converted their head unit and AC controls from a Sahara to a GXL style with the fan speed as a button control instead of within the display? In the US we only got the Sahara trim as standard, and this is something that everyone would love to change. Edited to change VX to GXL
Great installation mate, almost to the level of ASMR 😂😂 Love how clean and stock everything looks and wireless is the best. Can't wait to see the performance upgrades vids, cheers.
Great video well filmed and explained. I’m in the market for a 200 Sahara videos like this will be a big help to me when I get it, if I ever see you in Tibooburra I’ll buy some beers 👍.
Not to sure buddy haven't looked into units for the newer FL 70 series models, aside from the Kenwood we installed in our '21 79. The Kenwood was a whole unit replacement, not an interface for the stock unit.
Thanks for your comment! I hope you have a win with the ranger and your back seat removal and fitout turns out exacts you plan. It is definitely a game changer for organisation!
Hey mate, no real fuel usage difference as the change in gear ratios compensation for the larger tyres and extra drag. They perform like a stock setup on corrugations, just with more clearance.
Congrats guys! I think you’ll miss the practicality of a tray and canopy. But the trade off for comfort would be hard to pass. Keen to follow the new build 👍 Do a single turbo conversion with a motec 😂
Thanks mate! We will definitely miss the convenience of a canopy, even if it was way too high to be practical 😂 the 200 is super comfy and it will be legal and insured when towing next year. That was the biggest thing for us. If you want to see the mods, you will have to follow along!
Hey mate, definitely a hard decision as we both love the 79. The 200 series was the best vehicle for our future plans and allows us to take a year off work and travel Australia! Pretty sweet deal to me!
Great news guys. I came to the channel because of the unique 79 but stayed for your adventures especially the cape and OTT. Really glad to see another unique perspective from you guys as you still have sometime before you begin the lap. Forget the naysayer's, your lap your rules. My wife and I are in the same boat as you guys. We're also "thinking" of getting a van, as in our 40's we do want a few luxuries. Definitely stoked to see what you guys get and your reasons behind it, that should help us a lot. Cheers and all the best.
Getting back into service and seeing this comment really made us smile. Thanks heaps for sharing, and appreciate the support. We hope you really "think" about doing it ;) Might see you on the road in the future!
This is gonna be a good series. Only thing i would change is taking the dogs. I know its a big thing but having down a few laps myself you will miss out on so many locations.
Hey mate, have you got the measurement from the gear stick to left hand side of the floor console, just curious to know the sizing and cant find anything
Hey guys how did you go getting onto Goshen? I've been ringing their wikicamps number for months and no answer or reply to messages I've left. Sick video as always. It's always good to see people showcasing our awesome part of the world 👌👌
Hey guys! This camp was booked by friends, however we called (07) 4097 1428 to book site 5 and had no issues getting through. Sorry to hear you've had troubles! Hopefully you can get through. It is a great spot. We have heard really good things about 'Kutcher'.
It's a shame there are people out there that leave campsites a mess, it definitely grinds our gears too! We clean up where we can. It was a great trip, and we are excited to get back up there one day.
Would you believe yours is one of the only videos on the net showing how to do this, I don’t think Norweld have ever made one. The leg stability has always annoyed me since I also do this but my dilemma was solved by making a custom table to store it on. I’ve scraped and scratched a few things along the way so the little tips you have might help someone else. I also put weight in the rear drawer, let down the back tyres and take the tray side bolts off.
Whoa whoa whoa! Show us more of that exhaust hidden under the tray! Couple turbos hey? I’ve always been so impressed with Tim’s skills, and this build is a culmination of all his past builds put together in the cleanest, coolest, most Cromies Customs form there is!
