MUY MAL SERVICIO AL CLIENTE SE COMPROMETEN A BRINDAR UN BUEN SERVICIO Y A BORDO ES UN DESASTRE. MUY MALAS EXPERIENCIAS Y NO SE LO RECOMIENDO A NADIE. 😡😡😡
I post this in every long-distance Amtrak video. Always bring some extra snacks and drinks, especially if you're in coach, as the selection on board is limited and expensive and they can run out, and definitely a meal or two if you're in coach, for the same reasons. If it's an overnight trip and you're in coach, bring a blanket and pillow, and either way also ear plugs and an eye mask if you intend to sleep. Flip flops or slides are also useful if you want to remove your shoes, and especially if you have a sleeper and want to take a shower. Also, the usual things to pass the time, books, laptop, tablet, music, headphones, etc. But most people already know that.
I took the Cardinal over 30 years ago and it was indeed worth it, probably Amtrak's most scenic eastern route. I went from Chicago to NYC, which is the only direction I'd consider between these two cities given the very early departure on the west-bound train. It would take us over an hour to get to Penn Station which means getting up at a ridiculous hour and being groggy and miserable all day, even with a sleeper. That said, I'd love to take it again. I took it in early winter, with short daylight hours and most plants leafless and dormant. I can only imagine how much nicer it would be in spring through fall. I had a roomette, which I think is essential on an overnight trip of this length. Back then they had real dining cars and properly cooked meals. Hopefully they'll bring that back to all long distance east coast routes. I actually did some quick checking on Amtrak's web site and it's possible to book a room part of the way, to save some money, since even the cheapest rooms are expensive on Amtrak. You'd have to move to coach for the rest of the trip, but if you timed it just right you could actually get all included meals on the east-bound train, meaning dinner, breakfast, lunch and dinner, so long as you moved to coach at Manassas, VA or later, meaning 5 or fewer hours in coach. From Manassas to NYC is around 5 hours, so not so bad. ...And, having seen more of your video, I just realized the worst aspect of taking this train westbound. The most scenic parts through West Virginia and the New River Gorge are in total darkness, kind of defeating the main purpose of taking this route, which is the longest one that Amtrak has between NYC and Chicago. Perhaps the 4 hour delay was part of the reason for this, but the eastbound train gets into WV in early morning so there would have to be a half day or longer delay to miss the most scenic portions.
Seems like the U.S. is stuck in a cycle of aging infrastructure, underfunded public services, and political gridlock. Other countries are moving forward while we’re riding around in 30-year-old train cars. Roads, trains, power grids-everything’s outdated, and even with the recent investments, progress is slow or nonexistent. Feels like we’re falling behind, and it’s hard to see it turning around anytime soon.
ah yes COPA ... the airline that refused boarding me becasue I wasn't 3 hours there before the flight, even though the airports SPECIFIC instructions were to arrive maximum 2 hours before flight (early COVID days). What a bunch of morons.
great flight, with a free upgrade with more food and plenty of leg room.......driven thru Maine many times to visit my cousin......thanks....and just subbed too.
I'm taking this flight tomorrow and was happy to see the meals, so I can prepare, but it would have been really helpful to see more inside footage, and how much room there was for storage under feet and overhead.
Copa is one of the worst airlines in latin America. They do NOT serve alcohol in economy class. The flight attendants must be underpaid because they all seem to have a bad attitude. And just forget customer service, there is none.
TO THIS A350 FLIGHT BLOGGER [“DANIELATOR36”], WHAT “A GLOBALLY SELECTED, WORTHY ENTREE [DELTA A350, ATLANTA-BARCELONA]” AND Y’ALL, “LATEST A350 JET VIEWERS, ‘BIEVENIDOS’ A BARCELONA!!” 🍹🍱🍧
My experience was awfull. It is only good for short flights. For long flights is terrible. In economy their planes have only 2 restrooms in the back, so the lines and wait is long. Not only that, I was never credited to my account the miles they promised! I don't recommend this airline!
"stick around until the end because I'm not going to give you the information you want right now" No. Downvote and do not recommend channel. That's what I'll do instead.
thank you for this review! I am planning to go to Argentina and I had no idea which airlines to take. I am from Toronto and I've used Delta 20 years ago(which was nice) and 2 years with Air Canada (the worst!)
According to the wikipedia article on Purdue Airlines, Purdue itself once briefly offered scheduled airline service from Purdue Airport to Chicago, way back in 1950.
I used to live in Bloomington and I didn’t like planes at the time but now i see how airplanes and airlines connect the world 🌎 And I always love seeing little or regional airlines taking a spot in the big world of aviation . And I hope 🤞 that someday more Airlines fly to Bloomington ❤
I don't, unfortunately- but if you're interested in knowing what side of the train a room is on, my understanding is that the room number isn't too helpful, since they can flip the train car either way
this is a great video. This flight is one of the things on my bucket list to try when I get the chance. I plan to fly to Purdue not because i'm a student (who is currently graduated from another school), but to take a little stress free vacation in the city area of Purdue. Keep making these types of videos.
If I had a nickel for every independent review of the new Purdue - O'hare transfer, I'd have two nickels. It's not much but it's weird it happened twice
Something to be aware of is that it's a Part 135 carrier. A lot of companies, including my own, will not allow you to fly 135 without prior approval from the safety and insurance people due to liability and charter crashes. I feel that's going to cause an issue with all the business travelers who would pay for such a flight.
This makes sense since the Lafayette limo is constantly shuttling people too and from ohare to Purdue. Especially with how many international students come and go.
southern is really mokulele airlines form Hawaii, as they bought them, and still have the plumeria on the tail but now in blue in hawaii, id wish they keep the mokulele style
