t would be of great benefit to the Cutler Bay community that these megaprojects and others facilitate work, and employment for residents and neighbors who vote and pay taxes for the city. There are small businesses with local trucks and refinishers, builders, and cleaning. why do those jobs give you? They are granted to Foreigners who delay them and the time and price of the Work are extended. They have been working on Caribbean Boulevard over C1-N Canal, between SW 103 Avenue for many years and are not neighbors of Cutler Bay, why? Thanks Tim! I’m glad to have you as out Mayor. I appreciate you as being genuine and NOT a typical politician type. You don’t hear too many people in public office saying hey we tried our best and it just wasn’t enough but we’re gonna do better and have a plan for the future. Most are usually full of excuses. Don’t let them BS you folks, this was poor preparation by Cutler Bay, Miami-Dade and SFWD. The no name storm of 2000 dumped as much or more rain 22 years ago. That was more than enough time to minimize something like this from happening to that degree.
We need expansion of metrorail to Florida City. Better faster public transportation. On Saturdays 3.3 miles to Publix can take you 20 30 minutes. So sad and concerning.
I hope this development isn't taller than the 5-story buildings mentioned here. The model shown on the CBS4 news clip recently included 18-story buildings.
Thank you for this notice. We are so lucky to have any green space that helps with migratory birds and other wildlife. Our coastal position is extremely delicate!
Why are we developing more on 16 acres of land, what about just leaving it the way it is. There is barely any green space in Miami as it is. In addition , that UM guy on the video is an adjunct professor, basically a part time worker. This is a clear money grab , since at the end you uttered Manhattan. If you want this park built than you put up the money. Personally I would leave it green , since we barely have any green to enjoy now a days. I will vote no for this development.
Thank you for asking, and great question-the form of Government in Cutler Bay is Council-Manager. Under this form, residents elect a governing body- including the Mayor-to adopt legislation and set policy. The governing body then hires a manager or administrator with broad executive authority to carry out those policies and oversee the local government’s day-to-day operations. While the Mayor of Cutler Bay attends all Town Council Meetings and many functions and events representing Cutler Bay, he also holds a full-time job that is entirely separate from his role as Mayor.
