Any performance difference? I've signed up for the free adapter from Ford also, but I'm getting a little tired of waiting. Meanwhile our Ford EVSE has fried, the dealer is going to replace it, but, it would be convenient to have access to the Tesla network as there's more of them around us than others.

It’s likely a voltage issue. It’s over heating. I had same battery in my (GM) Lyriq using Tesla charger at home. Slows down charging a lot

Ford's navigation system is not worth a CR_P. I needed to go to the next city for a doctors appointment. I live very close to a main 4 lane highway. As it goes to my destination. It changes to a 4 lane divided highway. Then I exit it onto a 4 lane divided expressway. Finally I exit onto a 4 lane main road through the city. Last turn I am less than a mile from mu destination. Every quick. My return was to city 10 miles below I origin. My friend who live there. He told me a route to his house. I missed the route number to his place. I punched in his address into Ford's navigation. It showed his address. Hit tapped "GO". A blue line showed up on a route. I followed it through all the secondary streets and all the stop lights. Where did I end up. I was at the junction where I exited off the 4 lane divided onto the 4 lane divided expressway. From a simple express travel to a complicated city streets.

Very nice overview, thank you! I did want to point out though that the Auto Hold isn't for One Pedal driving. By definition when you lift your foot off of the accelerator in One Pedal driving you have "the brake on", so the car isn't going to move until you press the accelerator. Auto Hold is for when you aren't using One Pedal driving, so the car will work like a regular automatic where if you lift your foot off of the brake pedal, it will start to move slowly, or in the case of a steep hill it might even roll backwards. Auto Hold tells it not to move when you lift your foot off of the brake, only when you press the accelerator. I just got a Mach-E 2024 on August 31th, and just got up the courage to checkout One Pedal driving. It is taking a bit to get used do, and I'm still not sure I really like it. 49 years of driving with at least two pedals is hard to retrain.

Is it a resistive element heater or reverse cycle air conditioning? If it is resistive element, it is very inefficient and will destroy battery life unnecessarily.

A lot of gas cars also have heated steering wheels 🤦🏻‍♂️ and also for the people complaining that a heated steering wheel even exists has never felt a day in the winter up north…coming from the top of New England a heated steering wheel is a DREAM in the winter…but I do agree that we should also have a cooled steering wheel

I don't know if it's meant as sarcasm, batteries are quite literally much worse in the cold. you'll be lucky if your car is even useful, and then waste power on heating a steering wheel xD an old lada will start up no problem and you have vodka for your own personal heating

to be fair I never understood the need of heated steering wheels, I never touched my steering wheel and thought , oh that is to cold… On the other hand I don‘t know why there is no cooled steering wheel yet available, as in summer, it is getting so hot I can’t touch it…

EVs already have big disadvantage in cold weather losing most of their range - using all those heaters doesn't help.

Heaters don’t really affect your battery that much. AC is a lot more power hungry.

Weight helps too but the instant torque is a huge downside in slippery conditions. Not even accounting for the substantially reduced battery life. I'll stick with good ole faithful gasoline anyway. Can't wait until they start turning off people's cars for too many naughty words online!

Well yeah exactly, and the drive train is completely different with electric cars, no need for a limited slip no need for an axle to deliver power to the back ..no need for all kinds of clutches or fake brake based traction control, You have a motor at each wheel that negates the need for all of that. I still hate electric cars though😂

Pretty much my experience. Bought March 2024. Ford was dumping them, so no problem on price. Opposite side of the coin would be resale is probably down as well. Only problem is range reduction due to temp extremes. Here it’s heat. Try a trip when the temp is 112 degrees. A/C keeps up, but range is down just like in cold temp’s. And of course, 80 mph on freeway is always problematic. I’ll try some long distance again in more temperate times. That’s my *only* disappointment-I wanted to feel reasonably secure traveling 250 miles (90 kWh battery) without highway fast charge. We will see. One thing not emphasized…cost of charging! If you don’t charge at home, the car is significantly *more* expensive to drive than any ICE vehicle, hence this is not a long range trip car no matter the range. Best cost for an external fast DC charge was 54 cents a kWh. Doesn’t bother me as I bought this for local trip use. If you’ve no experience with high performance cars, you’ll find this a fun, fast vehicle. Interior room is competitive with other EV and most smaller ICE SUV’s.
