This performance was amazing .. Great commentary....Great ride by Mick Kinnane and yes a great Champion ...boxed in and boy did he show them .. only one horse better ever .. Big red Secretariat... Frankel got easy passages ....this proved STS better.
Sea The Stars won in one year what no other horse ever did. 2,000 G., The Derby, The Arc. Now if you great judges can't see he was a great race horse, nothing will.
Unusually big field , binding ground, rough riding neighbours all around him for most of the race , no clear path til the final stretch when everyone fell away. The most mentally and physically tough Grade 1 race I've seen , he prevailed in the most proffessional manner, pulling away. Best horse I've ever seen - I fell in love with him when I saw him finish 4th in his first two year old race - Mick Kinane minded him and thought enough of him to educate him. Even at 2 his neck was well set on and he was very aware and cool in the parade ring, smart self awsre and self confident - beautifully trained by gentleman John Ox.
I love this I could watch this race and listen to this commentary all day every day. He'll have to be a Champion he is a Champion I reckon......Just class.
Good horse but the commentator is boring. I can’t believe you people think this guy is good. He would put people over here to sleep. No excitement at all. Tom Durkin makes this guy look amateur. Very reserved. Would never make it over here
@@bobbyhanly3466 who knows what would have happened if Cecil did try h but I'd still stand my ground and Seathestars was the real star,as Jim Mcgrath put it...the horse of a lifetime.
Great ride from Mick Kinnan not to panic and go early when those two horses went so far in front. I know Frankel is often considered the greatest because of his 14 from 14, but Sea the Stars’ star quality over different distances at G1 level puts him right up alongside him for me.
Biggest bet of my life 8.3k at 6/5 odds weeks before the arc. I was crying 4 furlongs from home thought he boxed in. My heart ran as fast as STS did lol
The win that will forever seal his immortality. We all know Frankel was flashier and had that "wow, must watch" about him. But STS was a "proper" racehorse. "Horse of a lifetime"?....nahhhh A horse for ALL TIME.
The greatest clash in that race would have been the 2008 winner Zarkava and Sea the Stars in the 2009 Prix De L'Arc. But the connections chickened out and retired Zarkava.
