VR Lowdown aims to cover everything you need to know about VR (virtual reality) and XR (extended reality). We are a small team of VR enthusiasts who are passionate about all aspects of virtual reality.
I've been having a Quest 3 since launch and bought a Pimax Crystal Light following the hype for more clarity. Well, with those lenses it reminded me the Quest 2 or before, where you always had to find the sweet spot for max clarity. And I didn't like this bulky part behind my head, that doesn't allow to use the head rest of a racing or gaming chair BS a simple strap as on the Quest 3. In the end, Quest 3 is by far better with wireless, comfort and packake lenses. You just get a bit less precision with the slightly lower resolution, but at least it's consistent. My guess is with those affiliate links, those influencers aren't 100% objective...
I have both, and the difference in visuals between the two is massive. Pimax Crystal all the way for SimRacing, displayport is also important for being competitive with low latency. Quest 3 is only better for room scale games and standalone with the mixed reality stuff, where it shines.
PS: Let's not forget that they deleted the virtual homes of the people they made with so much love without a chance to make a copy of them on their computer.
Speaks of Pico 4 specs while demonstrating Q3.... man come on at least some effort LOL I had Pico 4 and was killing me with motion sickness and I gave up. Now I tried again with Q3 and man this thing is awesome! I have no issues with motion sickness on my first try just some head/eyes pressure for few min :) will continue in baby steps till I can use it without any discomfort. Pico was OK it is just that software side is much better on Q3 for obvious reasons LOL and it is just much more user friendly and tailored for user with so much extras that literarily left me in WOW :D
Its better than stock, but the cusion hurts in the lower part of the face. It ended up being to slim. I am going to add the VR Cover Quest 2 cusion. The lower part is wider. I did read that it fits the facial interface of AMVR
Just got the game last night and I’m enjoying it a lot. Especially when I can’t make it to the green, the game fills the void. I wonder if it will help a little IRL ? My only complaint is how fast it eats my battery, I need to see into purchasing an extension battery for my quest 3
Now I have bought a Quest 3 with Meta Elite Battery Stap for 388 Euros on Ebay. Great VR Headset with lots of options. This is a big improvement on my Rift S 😎
Eleven Table Tennis has veru good physics, but I have got to disagree with the controllers being similar to table tennis paddles. I used to play table tennis before COVID and every time I practiced in VR I was always worse at the real table tennis, because the paddles felt so different to me. I actually had to stop playing in VR so I could improve in the real thing. For a VR game though, it IS pretty good, I definitely agree with that, if the controllers were paddle shaped I think I'd not had that problem at all.
What the American thing to say. English originated from the UK which means it is spoken by four different nations Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English. I hope this helps, get a passport buddy...
The instructions say not to charge the battery while it's connected to the quest! Your battery has most likely overheated because of that. It still works but you have diminished its life and its why you are getting a hum
This was quite helpful! I have a quest 3 and i was super excited to try some sim racing in VR. the experience was incredible aside from one thing. when racing at high speed and trying to look far down a long stretch of track, i find the resolution just isnt very good and it gives me a headache. Which of these headsets would you recommend for sim racing?
I am surprised you did not mention the upcoming Quest 3S amongst the "most exciting new choices to come out", which supposedly has the electronics of the Quest3, in the body and lenses of the Quest2 and looks to be the best choice by far for anybody wishing to "try out VR". The Quest2 is then no longer a viable alternative and the Quest3 a more expensive choice with better lenses.
i cannot get over people calling the quest 3's passthrough good because no its not good its dogshit its barely if at all better then the quest 1's yes i said the 1's only that it got color now
Without prismatic corrective lenses, I have double vision. Eyeglass comfort with VR is essential for me, and that’s why I passed on my wife’s Quest 2. With a BoBoVR battery strap and no other mods, I find the Q3 vastly more comfortable, and she loves it as well.
