I don't like it when people correct my spelling your right, I tend to find it annoying but I don't care about it that much. It's more annoying here because this can honestly be called either or and it gets the point across, you can call it P-1 spiral staircase, P-1 spinal staircase, P-1 bone staircase, P-1 staircase or whatever the fuck else and people will pretty much instantly understand what your talking about when in the context of ultrakill. So yes, I find it annoying when people tell me to change the title, thumbnail and description for this nearly 3 year old video that I hardly even care about when it really does not matter.
Its hard to give any one reason, but with 4-3 no one back in the day was really running it. In fact when I started running it Greed had only just come out maybe a week or two ago but there were only 3 runs of Any%, 2 of P% and 0 of NoMo. Now if greed had come out in today's speedrunning community, I'd imagine there would be a lot more runs and if I joined at that time I probably wouldn't have even tried 4-3 but back then the community was smaller and I saw an opportunity to grind NoMo, since hey no one else is even bothering with it and I didn't do it for "oh free wr so ez" I kept grinding it because I knew it could go lower and I knew I could make it go lower, and so I did. Eventually I talked with another runner named Unimagination and they were running 4-3 Any% at the time and got wr, and they said "oh hey your already good at NoMo, maybe you should give any% a shot" and so I did, and I ended up crushing any%, I was good at it, Really good at it. Eventually I just thought "I mind as well just be the 4-3 guy since, I already have NoMo and Any%, so lets go to P%" and I took wr there too, at that point I just realized that I was just good at this level. To me there isn't really a goal per say but rather a question of "how much can I push this level" or "what can I introduce to this level to make it faster" so I don't stop when someone beat's me or when I beat someone else or when I get a PB, I stop when I think "ok I need a bit of a break lmao" or just when something else is more interesting to me at the time or when IRL stuff comes up, all of which does and has happened before. I think it also helps that I have this weird sense of nostalgia and awe of the greed layer in general, I remember the hype for this layer, seeing the whiplash teaser, small clips of a level or two, it was all so awesome, and then experiencing the music the level design, the secrets! it was the first new layer to be introduced since the game came into early access and at that point I had been playing the game for about 6 months. Over time though new levels have had new strats and even though I used to keep up I slowly started to fall behind and even though I was never an extremely great full game runner or had all the strats locked in, I was still good for the time but at some point it felt like there were only a few levels I still even knew how to do quickly anymore, and one of those was 4-3, I guess you could say 4-3 was like a home to me, when it felt like I had forgotten optimal strats for everything else. The only true and real way I can imagine myself stopping is when frame perfect strats come in, as I just don't enjoy them and to be honest I do just suck at them and would rather not have to put up with them or if someone else gets such an incredible run that I genuinely don't know how I could ever beat it without 4-3 becoming my 9 to 5 but even at that point I'd probably still at least push my PB. TL;DR I have a bit of nostalgia for greed levels as well as love for them in general, I have a lot of history with 4-3 and I want to push it to see how low I could get it to.
ALSO I forgot to mention it in that comment, but something else that kinda affects how I feel about the level is that a LOT of people just HATE it. WHICH I UNDERSTAND BTW!!! but since people hate it, it makes me want to grind 4-3 harder in a sense to prove that this level even though to most people it sucks, can still be great in the right hands.
Equipment 1 (half sheet) baking sheet Ingredients ▢ Olive oil ▢ 1/2 yellow onion, thinly sliced ▢ Pinch kosher salt ▢ 1/2 cup butternut squash, cubed ▢ 1/2 cup broccolini, trimmed ▢ 1/2 cup cremini mushrooms, sliced ▢ 3 garlic cloves, peeled and minced ▢ 1 (12-ounce) batch of store-bought or homemade prepared pizza dough ▢ 3 tablespoons jarred marinara sauce ▢ 1 (4-ounce) mozzarella ball Or 4 ounces shredded mozzarella Instructions To Make the Filling: In a medium skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add thinly sliced onions and pinch of salt. Cook onions for 30 minutes, or until onions are browned and caramelized. While the onions are cooking, pre-heat oven to 400F. Place cubed butternut squash on a baking sheet and toss with a teaspoon of olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast for 15 minutes, or until soft. Remove and set aside. When onions are caramelized, add broccolini and cremini mushrooms and sauteé for 5-10 minutes. Add garlic to the top and cook just until fragrant. To Bake the Calzone: Lightly flour your work surface and roll out pizza dough to a 1/8-inch thick circle. Transfer pizza dough to a piece of parchment. Add the tomato sauce to one half. Top with broccolini/mixture. Add the butternut squash and then finish it off with a few slices of mozzarella. Fold dough in half, over filling, and crimp as desired to seal. Transfer parchment with calzone to a baking sheet. Using a knife, slice a hole in the top. This will allow steam to escape as it bakes. Place it in the oven and cook until dough is puffed up and golden brown, 15-20 minutes. Notes Store-bought Pizza Dough: Grocery stores like Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods, have great store-bought pizza dough options. If you want to make a recipe homemade, this is a recipe I love. just thought i would share that i just tried ti install mods for ultrakill and deleted all 32 hours of progress shoutout to fenicmaster for the great tutorial that helped do so
@@ussom1377 not 100% sure honestly but I managed to get a low 11.7 arena clear with it compared to your high 11.8 arena clear so maybe it does. If anything it at least feels like it makes it a lil more consistent... a little more
uh sure I suppose? though the way you say that makes it sound like I'm trying to claim that I made this which I don't really think I've ever seen anyone else ever say but yeah alright.
i mean like... ok wait.. i think this map is from a mod platform called 'r2modman' and you can download a mod called 'angrylevelloader' and you can download maps and load them. one of those maps is the map shown in the video
