Hi great video had the same problem with the wiper mechanism was rusted out bought some clips that attached it to wiper and mechanism got me though rego still got some if you need them 🙂

John from Ipswich here.. Does your central lock work? Had a lot of grief getting mine to work after getting new ebay key pads.. had to code them in.. Ford in their wisdom use the back window light switch to code in the remotes.. problem is there is no back light demister switch on panelvan.. well actually the wiring is hidden in the dash.. but you also need the relay too.. which was a delete on the vans.. it was like a deep dive that went on for days.. Anyway remote lock worked great for a few years and then it didn't.. just kept cycling shut open, shut open.. After pulling apart actuator I find the little white plastic bit is split, but you can't see until you load a bit of pressure on the lever.. 😠.. grrr.. looks like a very fiddly plastic fix.. Sorry to dump.. needed to vent..
I never got a remote with the car. I fixed the electronic door lock (replaced with one from the wreckers) but it is key open (drivers side only on these). I had the cycling issue too. Pain for sure. I have never asked ford for the letter on this one. I know a 99 model XH van are few and far between.
Mine is a sept 98 option 20 ex cop, maybe why it came with central lock, abs, and delete centre seat, at least it was deleted when I got it. Had the same grief with window channel on my other van an xf, and fixed same as you with donor channel from a spare door. Was it you mentioned having grief with fuel pump only to find it was the relay under the overflow bottle. I didn't know about a relay, but got one off ebay and swapped over and now starts straight up, almost first turn. Beauty !! 😀 Sometimes you can get the shits with these old cars and then you have a win and its all good again.. J.
Ipswich resident here, I have an xh series 2 like yours.. Is yours an option 20 if so its an ex cop van, possibly dog squad going by roof vent holes.. I too have had grief with fuel pump.. replaced and still having issues. I just learned there's a relay under the coolant overflow, so perhaps that's my issue.. Good on you for not quitting on fixing bits. Learning about plastic repair myself.. John.
Check my other video as I show what relay does what on the cars and their locations. The pumps runs but it still seems to take 20-30 seconds of cranking to start (as if the fuel drains down and it has to start from scratch filling the lines and injector rails. Strange thing). Also needs a good run on the road to get the engine hours up as it is running rough as but all injectors are clean and working and fuel is good. It is ready for rego other than tyres but at the moment it is sitting doing nothing. Soon I will find some energy. Few medical items battling with.
It is a aftermarket off the shelf set up. Just make sure the tail shaft magnets are spot on and held on good and tight. I changed from using the plastic zip tie to a metal tie. Unit is called Command DIY Cruise Control Kit - Vacuum Actuated with Dash Remote AP60B
I had to change the light switch on mine also. Make sure the earths are good on the connections on the inside of the lights to the bulbs. Check power to relay and relays click.
Hi most informative. I parked up the EL Wagon years ago, then when the battery went flat...but now we need it. So it spun over, no start. Don't smell fuel out the back or hear that wurr click sound of the pump. Me thinks pump. I've done the filter and its got plenty of fuel. So I shot some fuel into the butterfly and she's off. I can hear the fuel pump relay bank go on now that I know where it is, thanks for that.!! Question: Are you sure its the middle one. I read elsewhere that the base is Green. Just want to be sure before I start pulling brittle plastic connectors apart lol. How do you get them off btw? Fancy no fuse of its own? Interior Light is on btw. So I want to pass the relay OK before I get to the pump. Thanks in advance.

That motor looks like it's out of a XF. The life of car enthusiast living in Darwin, 2 weeks wait before any repair. Can't wait to see it running, I love these vehicles.

on the front doors with the bolts closest to engine bay that go under the guard do you line up the door then just tighten them straight in once you get your gaps or what do you do? please reply asap :) cheers great video by the way

Do you have to re-do the engine timing after you change the sensor? I wanna change it but I don’t wanna re do the timing like some people say you have to! Thanks!!
Hi, It has been awhile so I am not sure sorry. From memory you can change the sensor via the two screws in the dizzy but of course if you remove the dizzy you need to check timing is right on install. Mark the dizzy before removal to get it close.
