Weekly reviews on Sunday and other videos spread out. We Review comics here in Minifig form and if you're not down with that I got two words for ya, I"M BATMAN
I'm extremely happy Tom Taylor is taking over Detective Comics, and his first issue 1090 just came out today 10-22-2024 and his first issue is light years ahead of Ram V's entire run
Awesome I am so glad to hear it haven't been able to run out and get a copy of it yet but that's what I like to hear, I know there were people who like ram v but it just wasn't for me felt drawn out a little to far
Back at it again to say you were 10000% right. Tom Taylor's detective comics blew me away with just the first issue. It was really really good and I'm very excited to see what he has coming next
I've been reading detective comics since 1972 and I've seen a lot of good and a lot of bad in that time and as much as I like Ram V personally I have to say I'm glad his run is over. His detective run didn't do it for me, although I will say I think it picked up in the second half but I'm glad it's over
I can agree on ram v it didn't do it for me either but I'm glad that Tom is taking over the run and Mikel on art is going to be great, but 1972 that's awesome that means you've seen a lot of the good stuff, and well you're not wrong a lot of the bad too which is okay we learn from those
I really appreciate the kind words and thank you for your support and subscribing. Hey sometimes that's the way to do it, read all the prior stuff and have one full cool story, I hope the last Halloween meets and maybe even exceeds expectations
Just be real, Paul is good for nothing. I don't understand why MJ dumped a man who's been dealing with a cosmic threats and decided to date a guy who's struggling with IKEA furniture
Well Zeb Wells has a couple more issues, so let's have our fingers crossed that soon he's at least gone, I for sure thought he was gonna be gone after the twins disappeared but nooooooooo
@@PolarB3arComics which I don’t understand why even keep this jerk around because a lot of people myself included don’t understand why is Paul even here because he’s not a character like at all and has no plot whatsoever.
It doesn't make any sense, the only way I can see them keeping him around is that editorial has an extreme case of tunnel vision and they DO NOT take criticism at all or even look at reviews but then again when asm 25 came out marvel was like zeb wells shouldn't go anywhere cause all the fans will hate him, it's the most ass backwards thing it's like they're trying to make us hate Spider-Man and for what reason?
@@PolarB3arComics i agree it doesn't make any sense and it just feel to me that marvel editorial want this book to fail badly really badly, however the good news is we have Ultimate Spider-Man right there which is giving us everything we ever wanted and shocker the book is really awesome and amazing in my opinion.
Well I do share that opinion with you ultimate Spiderman is really good and by far one of the best books at marvel on general, even tho I don't read too too much marvel ultimate Spiderman is a book I'm excited to read every month asm tho, well let's just say I'm a couple issues behind because of this current arc
Hate is a strong word… especially for a fictional character. Better to direct your ire towards marvel’s editorial who hates the spider marriage so much they resort to this kind of plots, to the risk of damaging their own intellectual property (see: MJ)
Well too be fair I don't necessarily hate him all that much, but seemingly saying hate in the title does get the video s decent amount of views for a channel my size, but I agree marvel's editorial has been making ASM a mess which is odd because ultimate Spiderman is so good, and people have been saying that for months but nothing has changed with the main line Spider-Man title do yeah I'll give it to you editorial is definitely the true enemy of spiderman
@@PolarB3arComics Since Quesada they have been pretty clear they don't want Peter and MJ back together. This is just the latest (and most hamfisted) attempt at keeping them apart.
Yeah I know it's kinda crazy, it also kinda makes you question who they're writing the comics for 🤔 the couple people in a building or the people spending the money on the books
Well on the bright side I guess we have ultimate Spiderman and older comics to read at that, for MJ and Peter but maybe we'll get somewhere good soon with them in ASM and hopefully it's a good story too
Oh yeah that's some good art, you been reading the Batman brave and the bold? The last two issues the main story has had Kelley Jones on art, it still looks great
@@PolarB3arComics I have! It's actually like the first comic I've picked up in about 5 years. I stopped reading the books when they all got so bad but I can't pass up a Jones batman. I always love to see his dead man stories too
Yeah it really is pretty good I'm excited to see how far it goes and dead man you're right looks good as always I like the story he had back in the 90's with dead man and with Nightwing it's even a bit more interesting since they both were part of the circus so I do like the dynamic
I'm glad to you're enjoying the comic though, it always sucks when your favorite characters have some bad writing and or bad art but I'm glad this was able to pull you in
Im still kinda new to reading comics, so forgive me if this is a stupid question, but how many variant covers are there? And are you just collecting the batman ones (if theirs more) or all of them?
Nah there's no stupid questions when you're new to something especially something that can get as complicated as comics. As for variant covers there's a ton of them hundreds upon thousands of variant covers if you mean variant covers in general. The specific variant covers i'm doing for is short is the Batman run that spans from 2011-2015 which is approximately 300ish variant covers give or take, which as of right now I have a little over 100 left to get. So those are the ones I'm specifically looking for at the moment for this series at least. I hope I at least did an okay job at answering your question, if you have more questions feel free to ask!
Thats so many more comics than i thought. I was thinking there might be like 20 to 30 per run of a character. And i wish you luck on collecting the last 100 or so that you need still.
Haha thank you, it also does depend on the popularity of the character like Batman can get a lot of variant covers, usually there's about 5 per issue of Batman that comes out but like for example green lantern maybe gets two or three. But yeah there's tons of different variants out there
Thats the way to do it, find the stuff you like, like I always say collect the stuff you like that's how you have fun in a hobby like this one, and there's always great stories behind those covers too... Most of the time at least, find what you like and get that, there's always recommendations for good stories and art is always subjective so if you like the art that's all the justification you need to get a cover
I was originally just listening to the video and towards the end I finally looked at it. Oh my God the Lego Batman talking 🤣🤣 thanks for the review and thanks for the video
I've always found this trope strange. My friend fucked around and found out so now I'm mad about it and I'm gonna fuck around too. Like for one your friend started it, and two after you saw what Batman did to him you want some of that too?
I never really quite got it either but I guess it's one helluva way to create more punch fodder. But at this point I think people are running out of creative ways to make new characters we just need someone to breathe more life into new characters, that aren't like oh you didn't know they were actually here the whole time but in the background?
