@@Veshremy-Saiyan I say he can offer enough in terms of extending smokes BnB combos the far neutral can be times with the uppercut part of smokes teleport to keep the opponent popped up , and with the potential buffs to certain kameos (scorpion included) all bets are off !
@@lmx17 don't worry I'm still doing the guides .sadly I couldn't touch homelander because nrs really screwed up his release and he's been bugged until the latest patch...which is only weeks before takeda ..so im taking a small break until his release .
It may be weird, but i love the harry potter franchise only because of the games. Haven't read any of the books, saw the 2 first movies 2 decades ago, but i keep playing the games non-stop to this day.

Armorable gaps don’t really break a character. If it hits you get 40% bnb at least if it’s armored the opponent loses a bar and gets 13% maybe unless there using a very specific kameo to extend
yup can be very useful if you notice someone likes to try and cover yolo specials with stryker or using sereena blades on block ..the main reason it's seldom seen is its part of eagly's shared cooldown which seeing as the away projectile is so valuable ..you're gonna be using that more

This is such cap. Smoke is midtier with optimal kameos. Cage, Sindel, Kenshi, and Lao would be mid tier with no kameo use at all, and top tier with optimal kameo use. Smoke only has decent meter less - 1 bar damage with kameo combo extension. Not to mention that his strings have ridiculous gaps, his 324 string can be unblocked and punished on the second hit, his <234 can be unblocked and punished, his vapor cancel pressure, can be punished because it has gaps. I'm a smoke main, and with the right kameo use and strats, would say he's high mid at best. And that's at like, elder god level gameplay. Most smokes I come across online are yolo special/port spammers. I question the sanity of anyone that thinks smoke is broken, or even comes close to comparing to top 5 chars.
It can be normal especially in an online environment.. latency can mess with timing and just general "brain fog" can mess you up ..just keep at it ...combos and cancels come in time the best thing is to know when to use them :)
I have seem damn near every tip video on this game, damn near memorized it all but that doesn't change the fact that I can't beat even moderate players and more specifically overly aggressive players, it fucking sucks running 90% of the time because some asshole has nigh perfect vision and won't give up the damn chase, it's annoying as hell and I just completely dropped the game.
I here ya I just picked it up and I’ve managed to win one game outta 10-12 games with only killing one in another match the predator feels so weak like why is illfonic so bad at making the one man team feel good? Super trash to just get hunted as the predator total bull shit.
Actually is as well. It's not perect but the fact he covers nearly everything fundamental and the general structure of his combos and block strings allows new and experiencesd players to build a foundation and muscle memory. For all the hate Rashid got in 5, he's a pretty technical character at high level. More than most imo.
BIG UPDATE!!!! as of peacemaker here are some changes to quan.... Quan Chi • New move Zone of Waste added. It creates a zone that drains meter from the opponent and if the opponent stands in it for an extended period Quan Chi will briefly gain armor • Field of Bones & Enhanced Field of Bones now activates the cage trap if the opponent blocks the attack • Field of Bones & Enhanced Field of Bones now has an increased duration on the cage trap • Adjusted victim region while duck blocking • Fixed inconsistency between air and ground hit reactions for Zone of Power Enhanced Head Rush allowing the opponent to block followup attacks at certain distances • Fixed Koccyx Krusher (Away + Front Kick, Back Kick, Back Punch) having improper animation and auto-correcting if performed as the opponent jumps over • Fixed Sareena Jataaka's Kurse still triggering if it is only connecting with Field of Bones • Fixed Skewer Strike tracking the opponent if the first hit connects with Field of Bones • Fixed lingering visual effects if opponent is interrupted during the hit reaction of Enhanced Head Rush • Fixed several unintended visual effects lingering during cinematics • Fixed visual issue with skull projectiles lingering on screen if they are evaded by Omni-Man's Viltrumite Stance • Fixed visual issue with lingering effects after hitting Field of Bones with Sub-Zero's Ice Klone Charge • Fixed an issue which would allow opponent's Shujinko to use Zone of Power to buff their projectiles • Fixed visual issue with Zone of Fear that could cause visual effects on the opponent to linger after they have exited the zone
forgot to mention that the portal projectile buff ..is sort of a pip system ..the portal has 2 pips, normal projectiles take 1 pip and ex projectile will take the all the pips (however you can still use one normal and one ex if you so choose)
Depends on the context ..if they're ODing on wake-up hold off your attacks and just block/parry..say if your rushing in you can just not a track and hold the away button and then parry and you'll get rush back and just get a spd off ...really you're always expecting the od if they have the meter to use it 😁
Khameleons assist as kitana can prevent some of the punishable moves that get blocked, allowing them the chance to punish you. Once you are doing a combo and you see kitana mode appear you can have her fly you up and away from being punished. Only thing is that assist is sometimes random but its saved me many times as smoke
In some ways yes ...of all the characters you should be able to fight it's your own and the top end of players have little to know trouble..but it's also boils down to having no advantage over that character as you are basically just playing yourself and it's all about who knows more ..this is why i love shang, as not only do players have to face the own character at times..they have shang to deal with as well haha
Man, I love watching these breakdown videos on the occasion, especially this one. TeknoOdin, you did such an amazing job with each if these. For tthose that care, as a decent Exdeath main I'd suggest: Delta Attack Almagest Malestrom Omniblock Delta Attack has the speed and range you need in most cases. The extra BP in Berserker doesn't hurt. Almagest is excellent for wall rushes or occasionally hitting opponents off guard. The AOE slow is really, really cool in theory but after many attempts in tournament fights it never helped. Malestrom is fun when you're not playing organized with your team. Search type attacks, like Maelstrom, should be used for the Marksman. Exdeath functions as a quasi-vanguard so he shouldn't use this in most cases. Omniblock sucks. It's really bad. Grand Cross would've been interesting but I feel like it would've functioned like a trap move, similar to Black Fang or Cherry Blossom, or Shiva's final attack. Fun, but gimmicky. For Ex skills, White Dwarf's Blight debuff is plain NASTY. Black Hole is Exdeath's fastest attack and really good for cancelling and getting an easy HP attack. Power the void seems really great for a last minute clutch move but I never found it very useful unfortunately. Ultimately, debuffs in NT weren't all that great which hampered Exdeath. It's funny because lore wise, Exdeath is a selfish character but in NT he's very team-oriented and really relies on a strong team to take good use of his mechanics. He's still a ton of fun to play.
Grade-A guide man. I feel like it's actually possible to learn Shang with your guidance. I also am stoked for all the other character guides incoming. I'm gonna be a menace!
just to quickly add more to the goro kameo he can also be used for one of shang's morph combos so now has a good spot for shangs using smoke along side smoke himself (with a delayed standinf rtr smoke gets another combo off violent tendencies so yeah he adds safety and combo options and may rival the other top kameo picks imo)

Gotta make sure you're pressing R2 at the same time as you press the X button ..timing is still a little tricky in fact I think it's the strictest it's ever been but it's all about practice
Some things I missed out (will be updated as time goes on) 1. The last hit of his b1,1 is a high so if your opponent releases block after the first hit ..it's a full punish
No problem ..also take a look into cyrax I know everyone is claiming he's the devil ..but he works with everyone to an extent and can do the same setups that Jax does for Shang with some timing tweaks .
Important note! New tech was discovered while I was finalising the video so couldn't put it in .. With the new jump cancel tech (the ability to cancel into specials from moves that can be jump can led ) enhanced Dragon's breath can be used to add a little more options ..so far I can only do F1,3>dragons breath dash S4,ex dragons breath >JC dragons tail But there will be better options so look out for more
Thank you! Shang definitely takes a lot of braincells but he's so so fun. I definitely need to practice the morph while pressing the special button. The timing is a little confusing and I think my switch stance button might be broken.... but i'm gonna try. I also need to morph more and learn basics for the roster.
Trust me morphing between moves and with specials is like unlocking an extra character...only recently I found some dude going into old form from f4 for a block string then finishing a following block string with Young's spinning spike into cyrax for so much chip damage ..really opened my eyes 👀
Hi. Just yesterday i was trying to get this right. Found the trick is to do the input of the special move first and then change forms before the special would come up. Cheers!
Great guide, just a note on F+Heavy kick, it's actually a really good anti air if they are jumping from range because you can go drive rush cancel it into cr.hp, then do heavy Striborg into medium or light torbalan and the heavy triglave. You send them full screen to establish zoning and get like 3k damage off an anti air conversion, also if you have level 3, you're talking 5kish for them jumping at you.
As a new Shang main that's been gobbling up all the Shang content I can find. This video was everything. From editing to facts it was phenomenal and appreciated. Thank you my friend 👍🏾
