Great video Jerry. The train, tram and boat look beautifully maintained. I'm surprised by how few people are taking advantage of what looks like a fabulous day out for all ages. If this were here in Australia tickets would have been booked out weeks in advance.
@@garyhodge886 Thank you very much. We were surprised too. Some workers told us that the first day of the festival was crowded, then tapered off. I think the weather also kept people away. This summer here has been awful. I also try to limit showing other people, so there were more people there than in the video.
i love the chinese guy, and i know he lives here a long time and get well paid for the performance.. we dutch know how difficult it is to learn our language, they want to prove its not about the text of a song but the melody ;)
Most beaches are accessible by expensive taxi-boats. In spite of clear sea, you will find yourself often swimming inside feces and rubbish that the numerous yachts around release in intervals. When I realised this it was too late: I had to take the ferry and go from Symi to the emergencies in Rhodes hospital for infection that had spread to my kidneys. Doctors prescribed me strong antibiotics that saved me. I cannot believe the uncontrollable pollutant destruction. Also, licence-free boats moor next to swimmers everywhere so it is risky to dive carefree. This is definitely not a place I am returning to. It could have been one of the best islands but it is not. The residents seems to prize the yachts (mostly coming from Turkey) more that the tourists that come to stay on the island.
At first I couldn’t believe your comment. We’ve been going to Symi for years and found the beaches and water to be very clean. But now there have been reports also in a Symi Facebook group that this is happening. This is something new and needs to be stopped. Thx for posting
@@ACwebseries thank you for letting me know that this has not gone amiss. I was not aware about people also commenting on a fb page. I am glad other people saw and reported it as this is very dangerous for health. As I've said the waters themselves are super clean but also not because the numerous yachts uncontrollably release their waste when it is convenient for them, next to swimmers and they also moor closer then they should. Before I even went sick in health, I called the Symi port authority: they showed no interest. I called the Mayor's office and could not get through to anyone. I came last year only for two days (jumping from Rhodes islands) and I thought "oh I'll come next year for a month and live on this gorgeous island". Now I am stuck in this island for the remaining two weeks, taking antibiotics and doing injections. Then when I return home I will need to do tests to see whether with this medication I managed to stop any damage to kidneys from the bacterial infection.
It looks such a beautiful , relaxing place. Alas, I really came to watch your video about this island because Dr Michael Mosely from England, UK went missing after hiking from a beach here and I am curious to see the land and how this possibly could have occured. Nobody knows what has happened to him. Thanks for the viewing of Symi.
@@ACwebseries Yeah because the surroundings of the bridge in Arnhem were destroyed because of the battle they build mordern houses there so it could not pass as a 1940's setting and the production team of the movie ended up in Deventer because the Wilhelmina bridge looks like the John Frost Bridge. Fun fact they started building the Wilhelmina bridge just before the outbrake of the second world war construction ended in 1943 then the Canadians came in april 1945 and the Germans blew the bridge up. How ironic LOL.
Hi!!I I prepare a programme about Amsterdam and i found your video .Could i use some footages and i will mention your link and your youtube channel in the programme?Thank you very much in advance
Motovun hates people with disabilities! Physically handicapped people cannot go to Motovun because it is impossible for private cars to enter the town. Shame!
You are one of those countries that does not have its own cuisine. Your "traditional Dutch" dishes are really German, Belgian, British, Turkish... I was terribly disappointed with the level of cuisine in Amsterdam. The food is terrible, the bars and restaurants are dirty (as well as the streets). Most of these places can hardly be called "restaurants".
I googled Haarlem boat tours and picked one. It was that simple. In doing research and in previous trips I learned that you can take a boat tours in Haarlem.
Hyacinths are my favourite, intoxicating. Tulips, nope those are not my favourite, though I can live with the short stemmed varieties, and always mixed colours. 😊
Hey, my friend Mark has a Wharram catamaran that he is fixing up near Amsterdam. He has a utube channel "Wildings Sailing". He had a girl for a long time and they went all over but now he is solo and working in the winter on his boat. I think it would be a great video if you all went down there and lent some EZ going cheezecake to his channel. He is sort of a unassuming English guy, so it would be nice to overwhelm him with some really nice girls.
Awesome video! I'm from Drenthe, grew up in Assen but I now live in a smaller town called Smilde (a few km south of Assen. The Hunebedden always fascinated me, Assen got city rights from napoleons brother, there's a great museum. We have a former concentrationcamp/ww2memorial in westerbork. And yes we have a the dutch tt and the festival in the city that comes with it. 😁
