Just got a caterpillar powered diesel 61 in turf tiger and it is freaking amazing. I've never had a riding lawn mower in my life and this thing is awesome. I have a two-cylinder diesel tractor with 28 horsepower also same as this turf tiger except the truck tigers at 3 cylinder caterpillar diesel. The tractor is great it has a shredder obviously a PTO so I can run other implements but I just can't cut anything in tighter areas. And honestly it's slow even cutting with a shredder. As a result I let things grow more than I should because it takes so much time to get there and cut it whether it's tall or short. With this new turf tiger I don't see me letting it get too tall and this thing is fast everywhere. Everywhere that it is tight and small areas to work in it's so vulnerable. Out in the open or the tractor is able to operate at peak speeds and efficiency and still runs circles around it. I'm obviously going to keep the tractor so I can use it with a box blade and maybe some other things with the PTO eventually but turf tiger will be the cutting the grass Has 117 hours on it and going to cost me $5,000.
Clean for an o.g. tiger cat. You are correct about the smaller deck. Still my pick over the cheetah and turf tiger... for the money. The cheetah transaxle is prone to leaky seals and cracked housings, so if ur spending that much, go with turf tiger.
The only thing I don’t like about SCAG is that they are dirty. What I mean is, you finish a yard and it’s time for a shower and throw the clothes in the washer. Other mowers I’ve used don’t do that. I think it’s how the air flows through the area around the seat.
@@Texas1987 sorry I have zero clue about mowers had never had to cut grass before, I recently bought a house with 4 1/2 acres so have to buy one now! So what is that efi ? So which scag would you recommend? Also which deck size ? Kawasaki motor right? Or what other brands would you recommend? Ferris? I know everyone around my area uses a John Deere or husqvarna
@@Texas1987 awesome thanks! Yes there is a dealer for Ferris, scag , toro and John Deere around me I did go check out the scag tiger cat, turf tiger and cheetah, seem like all those models have the efi
I just bought my first commercial mower for my personal yard. I found a 2018 48” Tiger Cat II with the Koehler pro 23.5 hp / 1200 hours. I paid $3700 for it. The 48” cut does great for my 3/4 acre yard with several pine trees. It’s in great shape and has done well so far. I have nothing to compare it to, but you’re right, it seems like a Cadillac. I was so tired of these residential garbage mowers…nothing but problems
Is your Scag still running well ! Have a question : How far can you raise the deck ? I think I read but not sure that it only goes to 4 1/2 in. Thank you !
I’m a Stihl man. The only husky I run is my dog! I’ve got an 034 made in West Germany. Yours is USA, but its a red switch (which are sought after) that means it’s an early 1st or 2nd year production and are usually thought to have snappier timing and porting. Definitely still pre EPA carb crack-down era. These 034 are 57cc and the 034 super is 61.5 cc, and when discontinued, that one became the 036. I use mine with the 20” .325 it came with, or a 16” 3/8 bar for firewood. Sometimes I rip boards with a 24” skiptooth 3/8 mill attachment and it pulls strong
I wouldn't mind gettin one of these for cutting my firewood. My ms441cm is dead and im needing a replacement, but want something lighter than it was. As long as i can run a 24" bar some times when i run into bigger stuff.
It seems that you, in America, have hybrid chainsaws. You have the engine of a 362c, but with the carburetor adjustment of a 362. The side cover comes from a c. Coming back to the engine, the cylinder cooling fins are horizontal on 362 and inclined on 362c like yours, strange.
I've got an 034 I bought used in 2000. Just used as a home owner saw but I cut fire wood every year and clear trees off the property. Ben left outside in all weather and it's looking a little worn but still runs like a champ.
We have a 4630 Turbo and an MF 165. Both are great tractors but I feel the 165 really shines with a front loader and upgraded hydraulic pump. It can run a bunch of skid steer implements if set up correctly. I prefer the 4630 for plowing and bush hogging.
The “C” models are the M-tronic models. They have an electronically automatic adjusting carburetor. Early models had some issues, the newer ones are almost problem free.
sounds strange to me, why make the c m-tronic, when the m stands for m-tronic? ms362-cm-vw is the one with m-tronic and heated bars and carburator. going by my 231 c-be c could also mean ergo/elastostart instead of the hardwire.
I had four Kawasaki mules even mule pro FXR bought them new they are junk always something going wrong with them I now have a can am defender love that machine Kawasaki needs to improve their machine they are very bad quality disappointed with him
I've got a k 3500 and I'll be getting a F-350 dually 4-wheel drive both of them are four-wheel drives and I'm going to see about getting me a gooseneck about a 40 to 50 footer with a dovetail and instead of ramps to use for pulling and hauling vehicles on specially my trucks that I'll be using for truck pulls and to haul other vehicles on when I'm not going to truck pulls my Chevy is a 8 ft bed and if I'm right the Ford is an 8-ft bed and they're both set up all ready to pull I've been pulling a bumper pull type car hauler trailer at the moment behind my Chevy do you have any suggestions if so can you make videos of those suggestions on a larger gooseneck thank you and God bless your family and you
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. Really hadn’t considered the axles and their impact on towing, I’m planning on pulling a utility trailer around with a mower, snow blower etc. Definitely going with the mule now
I have a Stihl 034 AV (made in West Germany, so from when there were still two Germany) I found this in a scrapyard. I also have a Stihl 025, MS 250 and a few Husqvarnas. Everyone is a hobby sawmill and sometimes firewood at work. So I live in Finland and here I have mostly used sawmills of this size, Husqvarna and Jonsered for example. Stihl has been a bit more expensive and maybe that's why fewer old ones can be found. Today it is otherwise: Stihl is a power brand here. In any case, it need a clutch and cover. Parts are still available as new and post-production, although without the stihl brand.
The Stihl 80 is strictly a trimmer and doesn’t have steel shaft and the same for 94. The 85 has steel shaft and can be used as trimmer or brush cutter.
