Thank you for sharing your Philmont journey. Our son is on trek 19 and was at Apache Springs today. His brother is a scout and in a wheelchair. You videos allowed him to follow along the same trek and to see the places that his brother got to experience. That was golden.
The park wasn’t crowded at all, even for NYE. The kids waited no more then 10-15 minutes to get on rides. We didn’t get the fast pass. We went to Magic Kingdom the next day and that was super crowded!
Thanks for posting this. I actually grew up in Cimarron and the surrounding area and I was on summer staff for 5 summers in the early 1990's. Unfortunately, I do not live in that area any longer and its nice to see "HoME" through the eyes of the participants. I hope you all had a great trip!!!
@@thevfamilyadventures intriguing. I remember seeing lights on the side of the mountain and they would move hundreds of feet side to side in a matter of seconds. There’s also rumors of ski walkers and other strange things out there. I know I wasn’t the only one who saw them as we were there for a NAYLE trek and a ton of the guys noticed it. Once of the few things I’ve seen that I don’t know how to explain
Looks like such a fun time. We are going to Destin in July and looking forward to checking out Crab Island. Thanks for sharing your adventure at Crab Island. Have a blessed day!
Do you have contact information for this guide service? I've been trying to book a sandhill crane hunt but the other guide services I've emailed never respond.
you guys got to abreu after us! we got the reheated-chili-from-a-can mexican dinner, as they had just gotten water back a few days prior. you guys lucked out on that one.
I had Itinerary 10 this summer. we worked cons our third day on the trail as well. if I remember correctly, it looks like you guys were working the trail that I roughed in before you guys. had an excellent adventure there. what was your crew number?
@@thevfamilyadventures We left long before you got on the trail, but looks like we had the same itinerary. we did 70 miles total though. nowhere near 100 miles. how did you guys measure your distance?
@@thevfamilyadventures we had an advisor who used a gps to measure the distance, about 70 miles total. I think the apple watches use the swinging of your arms times the estimated distance traveled per arm swing.
@@beng3023 Our ranger was Bradley. He was awesome! We only had 2-3 days total of rain and 1 hail storm on our hike to Apache Springs. Our climbing activity was canceled at Cimmaroncito due to the weather.
Any thoughts on motion sickness? This looks like the clear/best option for my family, but my daughter has gotten a little uncomfortable on boats out in the Atlantic, before. Not sure how much fortitude is required. Also, do you know if the taxis are widely available well after nightfall? We land at around 8PM. I actually selected your video because it’s a little darker than the sunny boating thumbnails. Thanks, and this is a great help, already!
My wife and I get motion sickness very easily but I will say the ride is very smooth and the water calm. We did not have to take any motion sickness medicine. We had a 19 month old and a 6 year old and they did well. It felt like a river boat ride. Water taxis are available 24/7. Have a safe travel!
There’s a Speed Boat to Venice counter at the airport near baggage claim. No appointments needed to book a water taxi. Took us no more than 45 mins on arrival to get luggage, go through customs, book water taxi, then 10-15 mins walk to the water taxi outside the airport.
@@thevfamilyadventures Thats a great tip. We decide to arrive in Venice via train from Rome instead. Flying back to NYC via VCE. Did you do the water taxi also leaving Venice? Thank you.
I used an Insta360 One X camera and the invisible stick is their selfie stick www.amazon.com/Insta360-Invisible-Selfie-28cm-120cm-Adjustable/dp/B07V1T6X5C/ref=sr_1_12?crid=3FDVIEEWHG4WZ&dchild=1&keywords=insta360+one+x&qid=1621801007&s=electronics&sprefix=insta%2Celectronics%2C192&sr=1-12
