There is no longer Advanced access and it is still referred to in the documentation. Has it changed or do I have a permission issue?

I have heard that this is the tool to upload vendor payments. I’m not understanding the process, though. Do you know how to proceed with uploading vendor payments without having to click all of the vendor invoices?

in the payment journal you got to search something called suggest vendor payments, then you apply ID to the invoices you want

I haven’t created a video that covers the prerequisites because it actually takes a lot of time putting relevant data and scenarios together. Ideally I like to teach with relevant examples such as showing raw data as an example I would get from a client and teach what are the right questions to ask before receiving the data etc., but HR module is relatively new which is why you won’t be able to find any videos teaching you the fundamentals you require to understand the system.

It’s actually a pretty good functionality from my point of view. It’s helpful for business users to keep up with their work especially when things are moving fast within an organization. The practical use of it can be extended to a broad range of activities

But is a dummy value sitting on an employee. You don’t know who has what worker assignements , you can’t report on them, you can’t follow up and you can’t alert them. And you do t know if they were follow it up or not

Oh ok I understand where you’re coming from and I agree that it needs a bit more enhancement for sure to fully integrate it with the module. Perhaps you can put your idea on Microsoft community and see if it picks up traction so Microsoft can implement it in near future.

Can you please explain how to use the first column "Type", in your video you only demonstrated of type "Field". I'm curious if for example it is possible to create an item template that also contains some unit of measures in the related table, or some comment in the related table.

There is no out of the box Time and Attendance module integrated in Finance Operations with HR. The module you see is used for Projects module. You have to integrate an ISV solution from Microsoft Apps that would fit the need of the client and ultimately integrate that along with HR with payroll. It’s a big activity to do all of that but possible of course.

In D365 F&O & HR, Benefits feature disabled. When I visit on Benefits message appears as 'This form is in read-only mode. To edit, disable Benefits management feature in Feature management form.' I tried in multiple way to enable this, so I add benefits to worker. But it's difficult for me. Please can you explain, or make a video. Thank you!

Benefits management module is relatively new which was introduced to replace the module you’re referring to “Benefits”. The reason it is read only form is because Microsoft suppose to take that out and only have clients use Benefits Management module. If you want to configure and assign benefits then you should be working with Benefits Management module instead of Benefits. I haven’t made any videos on it yet, but intend to do so sometime later since there is a lot to cover in it. If you have any other specific questions i am happy to address.

Does this keep the dimension code in the template when you go back into Edit Excel the next time? When I have tried this, it removes the dimension code (except for Global Dimension codes)

It should save your last changes you made to the template. I have tested it on my device and it works.

You can customize the role yourself as a functional consultant and treat that as standard for the need of your client

I appreciate the video but you didn't show to apply the configuration templates. With Item, Customer, Vendor Templates etc, it'll prompt you whether to apply them upon creating a new record. Or, you can apply them by clicking 'Actions', 'Apply Template', but I don't actually see how this is possible with Configuration Templates. I tried creating one for Salespeople/Purchaser records and nothing seems to happen. Are Configuration Templates archaic now?

The merger has happened already and Microsoft has started issuing reminders for vendors to start moving their standalone Dynamics HR to F&O. So far a lot of features you have in standalone has been released except ATS. All other modules are being continuously enhanced and improved

Quick question if you don't mind: when creating a sales order in dynamics central, there is the option to select a ship to address or create a new one. In credit memo, there is no option to change the ship to address as this defaults to the company's main address. In cases where the company has branches or franchises and need to deliver a product to one of the franchises/ branches with an address different from the main companies address, there is no option to change the billing address to reflect the franchise or branch address when a credit memo is created.. any ideas

Is that correct? Also as a follow up I am wondering if the franchise/ branches are separate legal entities in the system or you are using dimensions to track financials?

YES On Dynamics Central, it is created as one customer (entity) with different Ship to addresses e.g FreeFoods LLC - Main address 123 Washington DC, USA , ShiptoAdrdress 1: 234 Adams Avenue, New Jersey, USA ShiptoAdress 2: 345 Charlies Drive , California , USA Lets say a sales order was created with Shiptoaddress1 and for some reasons, there was a mistake and a credit memo needs to be generate, when generating it pick up Main address automatically and not any of the ship to addresses

@@belloabdulmuizz9156 That is a gap in business central unfortunately, I presume the workaround you are doing is manual where the associate is manually entering the correct addresses on credit memo. Ideally, you should have been recommended to create separate customers with a naming convention that would work for your organization during the fit gap analysis if Business Central was the proposed option but as of now you would need to design and develop an extension (developer who can code in AI) that would allow you link these addresses.

Hi I am in the process of moving from an excel based approach to BC. Is it possible to generate one purchase quote for 10-20 suppliers at the same time? We tend to have a large list of manufacturing items and setting up purchase quotes for each supplier would be too time consuming. Is there another way?

Purchase quote functionality in BC is very limited and you can’t create multiple PQ and make orders out of them simultaneously. You would have to customize and deploy it to your environment. The ‘best’ approach i can think of is to create a config package and import your PQ like that, but to do that you need some experience otherwise you could ruin production data if something goes wrong

You save the excel sheet and work on it every time you want to upload journals. The excel sheet is linked to that specific journal so you open and publish then you should see it in the journal ultimately
