What a lovely home!! It looks like you have designed it yourself…. I can see you living there. So glad you are not moving out of the area!!! I’ll be into that pool as soon as the temperature is right!!
The copper fountain that was in the rear cobblestone courtyard. The 7 sided copper and brass lamp over the spa. The Finial atop the round tower. the ballance work for the stairs to the roof. The copper weather hoods on the tower windows. The outdoor grandfather clock by the spa with its copper face and lead finishings. The finishing work around the cook top in the kitchen, probably gone. All these are my design and hands on work. The rear bedroom on the extended wing was used as a workshop. I cycled from Parnell rise each day to do the work. David James Banner was the project head and the owner. He heard about the craftsmen on the Coromandel and did a road trip to find us. I moved to Auckland for the work. My digs were a share with some Air New Zealand Hostesses. I remember well as they grieved over their friends on the fatal Erebos flight. My father built this house, it's such a solid home and was always beautiful. I love how it looks now, modern, warm and of course beautiful. Yes current owner has done a wonderful job- I love it. maggie shields
