At age 50 we left our jobs, sold most of our belongings, and decided to follow our dream of international travel for seven to nine months a year. Our goal is not to visit the most countries or see the most sites in a short amount of time, but to spend several months in each county that we visit, becoming immersed in the local area. When not traveling internationally, we hope to spend time visiting various beaches, cities, and national parks across the United States.
We will show not only where we are going and what we are doing, but also provide practical advice on how to travel and explore on a reasonable budget in a relaxed and leisurely manner.

Very typical review from a very gringo perspective, ESPECIALLY of the Deliverance variety. I suppose compared to a podunk town like Memphis, Merida might not be as cheap (or they just took advantage of clueless gringos, but trust me when I tell you Merida is cheaper, cleaner and safer than New York...
Thank you for your excellent video. I'm a tad confused though. The title of your video says "Carry On Only Packing Video" Surely you will be overweight for carry on only? Won't the big bag need to be checked in? What am I missing? 🧐
It is not overweight. I think it weighs 23lbs. It is the largest carry-on that meets US standards. Twice in Europe the made us check, that was Ryanair and Lufthansa. Other US and European carriers have had no problem with it. We are trying to call smaller before we head to Asia next year. It will be too big there. Thanks for watching.

People think the South in the US is not cold, but Jan Feb is usually cold because of the humidity. Even here in SWFL it gets pretty cool in Jan Feb although not as cold as it gets in NWFL where I was born and raised. I spent 10 days in Panama in 2021 and I loved it because of the peaceful feeling. No fast pace, no politics, no loud people racing around. Boredom is a thing that keeps me from doing it long term. I am a homebody and like to mostly stay home, putter around in the yard, the pool, cook or watch YT. So you say the pool was too cold? Wow I was under the impression that it was HOT there... Thanks for that comment. Over 4k for 28 days? wow. Sounds like a big no. I want to go where my total budget for a month is less than 2k.
In hindsight I would have skipped the pool to bring our overall cost down. Lesson learned! We are currently in SWFL enjoying the sun and a pool! Thanks for watching!

We spent 7 months housesitting in Merida back in 2015, and I agree with what you said - it isn't necessarily a great tourist town for more than a few days (most of the great things to do are several hours away), but it is a terrific place to live. We stayed in the north east of the Centro and I would love to go back. And if you want to use the pool, go in the summertime, it gets VERY HOT and the pool will be much more useful then! lol

We aren’t very fancy eaters. Usually we have tacos, baked chicken, hamburgers or pasta. Usually the Airbnb doesn’t have spices or the best equipment so we eat very basic meals. Thanks for watching.

Your video made me laugh. You shortened the surname Czartoryski. There is an announcement of the CZART museum. Czart in Polish means devil. The Princes Czartoryski Museum lost many valuable exhibits during World War II. . The greatest loss is the painting Portrait of a Young Man by Rafael Santi. You didn't show the most valuable painting in this collection. This is Leonardo da Vinci's painting Lady with an Ermine.

Żywiec is the name of the city. You had one Czech-made lager in your set. The most popular beers in Poland are: Żywiec, Tyskie, Lech, Okocim. The best beers are produced in small craft breweries.
Obwarzanek krakowski is a traditional baked product. Its history dates back to the 13th century. The dough is first steamed and then baked. Bagels also come from Krakow. The Krakow Jewish community started baking them in the 17th century. It was an occasional bake at the beginning. Bagels were given to women after a successful delivery. Emigrants brought bagels to the United States in the 19th century. Today, bagels are a symbol of New York, not Krakow.
