Sprinter van Expediting, Van Life, Trucking, Time critical shipments, Expedite, hot shot. How to make money driving long haul. Sprinter, pro master, ford transit, box truck, small straight, large straight. We do it all!
Diesel always. More power and it's more economical. And if I could I would get the 4 cylinder diesel sprinter. It's even more economical.... Like 27 mpg
We don't know when ita a better time because we don't know what tomorrow will bring us. Looking at it today it is a good time because vans are cheaper, fuel is cheaper and freight is still steady.
240k miles to start out with is high. Unless you owned it from 100k miles ago and did all the needed maintenance up to this point. With 240k miles things will start to slowly one by one break down on you.
New costs too much. Buy a used one with under 130k miles and ull save about half vs new. It only takes a good driver a year to put on 130 to 160k a year on a van and it will be worth about half after that. So I recommend saving money vs wasting it.
Agree... But figured if I'm able to help even 1 person from making a mistake it's all worthwhile. Some people are learners and bounce back and some are just unfixable.
Love the videos! Great content, precisely delivered. Here’s my question, the game changer in all this seems to be the expense of commercial insurance. I have heard all kinds of prices. What type of coverage does one need exactly, and how much can one expect to pay for commercial insurance ? BTW, i am over 60 years of age and have good credit, and excellent driving record. Thanks ! Vic
insurance cost is different in every state. 1 mil liability, 100k cargo and unlimited mileage insurance is required for this job. Basic trucking insurance.
Some of this is good info and some of is outright untruth. You will not lose your MC through an audit - simply false, he's just trying to sell you on working for him as the middle man so he gets the profit.
I'm daily driving a pick up now. I'm hauling stuff full beds of boxes of books daily, plus all the other house hold stuff we all do. I'm considering trading my truck for a van, and getting a cheap car for when im not using the truck. Besides my personal use for my main business, i figured "hey, when things are slow, with a van i could pick up a load here or there".
Just Subscribed! Great Channel. Been looking at cargo vans for over a decade and haven’t seriously considered till now. Didn’t know there was OTR industry was till your channel. Just a few questions on van purchasing. What sites are you looking for when purchasing, and do you suggest to buy from a dealer used or private? As far as market prices are you basing off kelly blue book value or are there any specifics i can research more for a solid van? Just want too make sure i wait till i find a great deal and the right van. Also is Awd something to consider? Thanks in advance
Yes it is. But it's not a big write off. You're just pretty much gonna write off maybe 3 bucks from a shower. It's the Tax amount from a 15$ shower that you're saving when doing a write off. Hope that makes sense. You can only write off the taxed portion off that amount.
