Hi, just getting into shark fishing myself so please forgive the lack of knowledge. Why exactly was there 2 kinds of line? Have I been wasting money spooling my whole conventional with braid? Thanks for your time!
We usually run braid with a mono (or even heavier braid) top shot for a stretch and abrasion resistance with sandbars, reefs, and other things that will cut your line!
Good catch. Its not as uncommon as some think for them to be around Galveston. They are around all the time, its just the numbers of them compared to all the others is like 1 to 100 so its not often you get one on your line before another gets it. But yea offshore theres a lot of em
