How was floating the riffles on the river in a Kayak? I am wanting to take my kids. Any real dicey spots?
@donaldpresley4536
@donaldpresley4536 2 месяца назад
Halls bay near riverton landing is a little drop with whitewater. You’ll probably enjoy that. Nothing really dangerous. I would say the trees down in the river are more dangerous. Just stay away from the downed trees and you should be fine.

Oh me that’s been a while. I believe it was about 12-14 hours float time. You can pretty much count on 2-3 mph with kayaks if you don’t stop a lot. It’s a beautiful scenic section.

Once, we floated the Jack Fork, and were out looking for wod for our fire and found a LOT of cut and split oak. We took a lot of the wood back to our campsite and make some of thje best steaks ever with it! YUM. That friend turned out not to be a friend at all, but a Narcissistic Personality Disorder sufferer who hates me now for correctly diagnosing him with his mental health disorder. Right Bryan? ROFL

I also have an Ascend H12. My only problem on the Jacks was hitting rocks under the water. When I’d hit them in that kayak, it was like hitting a brick wall rather than sliding over them like in my Perception. I can pack way more stuff in my Ascend though! Have you floated the Eleven Point yet?

Just a beautiful set or Rivers down there. The only river I’ve been on that has better bluffs and is deeper cut, is the Buffalo River Arkansas. However, that being said, I do prefer the Current and Jack’s Fork, slightly.

@@donaldpresley4536 We visited the Buck Hollow access point a couple weeks ago, so beautiful but probably too low at this time to float it. What gauge site are you using for the 1.8, just out of curiosity? I was using RiverApp and USGS Waterdata but wasn't sure which gauge. There's Jack's Fork near Mountain View and Jack's Fork near Alley?

Looks like a good family float from Alley to Eminence. We are looking at doing this or Akers Ferry to Pulltite on the Current. Have you done both?
@donaldpresley4536
@donaldpresley4536 Год назад
We prefer Akers to pulltite but both are good. Alley to eminence is probably not as pretty and probably more crowded as well. Akers to pulltite is busy too but I think people can spread out better on the current than the jacks fork. We did that trip actually on Labor Day weekend.

@@donaldpresley4536 We ended up floating Akers to Pulltite the first week of August, and the whole family loved it, especially Cave Spring but just beautiful in general. Only one drawback was, we stayed in Jack's Fork River Cabins in Eminence, which was great because we stayed on the bluff so the view was spectacular (you float right past it in this video), but the drive to and back from Pulltite takes a good 30 minutes, that's the one big drawback. I think now that we've seen that section from Akers to Pulltite, we're going to do Pulltite to Round Spring next, which cuts the drive back to Eminence to 15 minutes. The Echo Bluff park was all booked by the time we were trying to plan this. Really, if you're staying in Eminence, the Alley Spring to Eminence is easily the most convenient and it still looks pretty nice. The scenery looks very similar, and Akers to Pulltite was crowded as well, not crazy crowded, but pretty busy even on a Thursday.
