A living record encompassing the time our family left the comforts of suburban life in Central Florida to start a viable working farm. This leap was hard at first for us all to adapt to small town living, starting a new career, and building our homestead. -April 2022, we brought home our first pair of pigs to start a small hog operation.
Howdy from Texas! Great video. Appreciate your time putting it together for those of us shopping for a new compact tractor. I’m currently torn between the JD 4044r HST and the KIOTI DK6020SE HST. Really struggling with making a decision. BTW, “an inch or two is every man’s dream!” 🤣 Fact!
There seems to be many amateur muppets that think tractors are bulldozers, and whinge when they break something. Or just too inexperienced and use tractors for the wrong job, or buy the wrong tractor for the job
I live 5 miles from hurst equipment in norman park i have bought alot of used equipment from them as well as a badboy zero turn mower thats 8 years old. Cant say enough about how good they have treated me.thinking about buying a kioti tractor from them. Im thinking the rx series 6620 or 7320 i prefer the bigger heavier tractors. I guess from my time in military its better to have it and not need it then need it but dont have it. Thanks for the great video Lot of good info
I'm not going to lie, I was sitting here trying to watch this video trying to learn about those boots but that damn music in the background the entire time was too damn distracting.
Their is no longer a company who makes a great pig trough like back in the day. I bought an aluminum one and they destroyed it. A steel one is better but has a bar threw the middle and they just pick it up and throw it around. I had to build a wooden box around it and fill with concrete but now it's a pain in the butt to clean. Your plastic one will do great when their tiny but they are going to throw it all over and waste feed and water
We have a newer video showing our current hog feeder. We found some 4 hole Hog Slat gravity style feeders that have worked perfect from weaning to finish.
Kioti doesn’t stand behind its warranty. Was told it had a 6 year warranty. Had tractor for less then 2 years. Was told that the hydraulic system is not covered by the warranty. Do not buy
I do not. Once I set the 4x4's, I gave myself a 1.5" space around the perimeter and then staked 2x4's in the ground for the forms.I squared them up and made sure they were level using a string and string level. Hope this helps you out.
Believe me it’s always good to look into the the good and bad and ugly on every piece of equipment and it’s also going to help the manufacturers hopefully,so good videos
I have the moctoe Wolverines and they have an incredibly soft sole and I love them! The softer the soles, the better your feet and back will feel at the end of the day. With the softness comes less wear resistance like with tires, the harder the tires the longer the mileage rating and the softer the tires the shorter the lifespan. I'll take the softer tires or boots anytime!
Just saw your video and appreciate all the info I am going to look at the dk series this week in Ocala Leaning toward the 5010 Was wondering if you shopped florida dealers before georgia and if so was there any significant difference in price I can forego sales tax in Fl with my Ag Exemption Not sure about Ga I am around Lake City so Norman Park is not much further north than Ocala is from me Thanx again
I was shopping the Florida dealers during a time when we were all uncertain about Covid-19 and dealers were having a hard time getting inventory. I checked with every North Florida dealer and couldn't find my tractor. I got lucky ad found a good group of folks up there a Hurst Tractor. I never got into talking prices with the FL Dealers because they didn't know what was getting delivered on their trucks until they showed up at the gate. It was a weird time a few years back. I did not pay sales tax in GA. because we were Ag. Exempt as well and I believe the dealer helped with that paperwork. You have access to the same benefits there as we get here. I would say find a dealer you get along with and who can work with you now and down the road.
I owned a DS4110 Kioti that I purchased in 2010 used it with great success clearing land and more. Upgraded to DS6010 here in 2023 and traded my DS4110 for more than I paid for it in 2010. I also found out that many manufactures in the U.S. purchase the frames from Kioti to build their equipment. So the over all strength of the base of the equipment is tested and very strong. My only draw back is that manuals are slow in coming since they have been on back order for the last 4 months. I add camera to all my equipment and that is a safety issue I would recommend be added. Good luck and keep on with Kioti.
I have a ck2510 that's 7 years old and I have too remove the grill Guard so I can open the hood, the dealer says it right one my don't hinge down the like the new one's.
As a retired farmer I sometimes wonder why people buy a farm tractor and do land clearing. I bought a old and I mean OLD D6 CAT for doing land reclamation!
My pocket book just won't let me. I looked at it like this, I would buy a big enough tractor that could handle about 80% of the work I needed done. When I need to focus on the other 20%, I could rent the equipment for a weekend and get everything I need done. I could not see buying a specialized piece of equipment that I would maybe use for a month and then have to flip it to get my money back. So far so good for us, thanks for watching!
I felt bad staying home today. We set up a wind barrier for the pig and spent some quality time with the family. I think we got very lucky this time around.
Brannock (Standing) - 11E Brannock (Sitting) - 10.5E Duradero - 10.5M(D) Room for my preferred orthotic. Just removed the OEM insert. Snug without being tight.
Ten hrs on my new DK 4720, love it so far, but those chain stabilizer bars are my only worry. Likely I'll upgrade at first service at the dealership. btw, dealer is ten minutes away, which is main reason for getting this Kioti. ...never heard of it before
I believe they are using Nushoe in San Diego for resoles. They get $85 to do the equivalent resole and restoration to a Red Wing (using OEM Vibram Cristy). 11E - Standing Brannock 10.5E - Sitting Brannock 10.5M(D) - Duradero They had room for my preferred orthotic. Just removed the OEM insert and replaced. Snug without being tight.
@FightingIbisFarms I'm just reading between the lines. Nushoe does a lot of repair for the shoe manufacturers, the armed forces, is based out of San Diego and Todd threw some Nushoe Military Insoles (That I don't believe are commonly available) in the box with some of my boots after I mentioned liking firmer insoles.
would like to see how they maintain these in 10 years. I believe the parent company used to make mini trucks and is impossible to get parts for them. vehicles are only 10 years old. are these significantly cheaper than a comparable John Deere or Kubota. don't see myself buying new but think a 10-year-old well supported tractor would be of more interest
Parts are my concern as well. The tractors look nice and seem to perform well. I worry that I won't be able to find parts 10, 15, or 20 years from now. And before anyone comments on my 20 year concern, yes..people do keep tractors that long. My current tractors are a '89 Ford 1120 and a'97 Kubota M4700.
Thanks for the review. I have a DK4210 SE with 600 hours on it. This is my 4th Kioti. I started with a CK27 and moved up this tractor. I think it is worth mentioning that Kioti used to manufacture Kubota's and several other brands. A Kioti is heavier built than Kubota's. One of the strongest features of these is how strong their hydraulics are, their warranty, and turning radius. My dealer, Timberstar Tractor in Vernon, BC is outstanding. Highly recommend!
