I have the topeak as well and my issue with it is that due to the way it engages with the presta valve head, I find it impossible to put it on without deflating the tire somewhat. So it would have been interesting to see whether the other gauges also read 17 PSI after the topeak had been used.
Are you referring to the cap that goes over the pump valve ? It all came together when I bought the pump. Have you tried contacting Specialized? They may send you one
I didn’t build it. It’s a feature at our local bike park. But it just has poles suspending it above the water. When the dam fills up. Parts of the bridge get submerged. But it’s winter here at the moment and there is almost no water in the dam. So now it’s just a bridge with no water. I’m going there tomorrow if you want me to send some pictures when there is no water.
I suspect your Topeak might have a worn gasket that leaks a little. If that's true, Topeak might sell spare gaskets. Personally, I have a Topeak Smartgauge D2X, and a Topeak Shuttle Gauge Digital. I definitely prefer the D2X of the two. The D2X appears very similar to the D2, with as I understand it only a few minor differences. The D2X is a pretty flat thing while the D2 is more cylindrical, the D2X gives the reading in PSI with one decimal, and it will measure up to 280 PSI, something I don't ever expect to use. The Shuttle Gauge is in my opinion a little bit more cumbersome, it has a lever so that it will lock onto the valve, which is useful, but I always worry a little that I might bend the valve by mistake if I use the lever a bit clumsily. The lever, plus the all metal construction, also makes it a little bit bigger and heavier, and I also believe more expensive. On the positive side, it has a pass through valve that allows you to attach a pump to the gauge, and turn any old pump into a manometer pump, or I can use it to verify that the pressure gauges on my pumps are accurate. That's certainly very useful, but 9 times out of 10 I will reach for the D2X. Just like the D2X, the Shuttle Gauge Digital shows decimals in the PSI readings, and it measures up to 300 PSI. Both gauges turn on automatically when you attach them to a valve, and will turn off automatically if the measured pressure doesn't change for a minute or so. Not sure if the D2 does that. Also worth knowing is that there is a Shuttle Gauge Analog, which has an analog display instead of a digital one. This one is a lot bigger than the Digital and I don't really see why people buy it. I guess some people hate batteries, or maybe they like the way it looks and keep it somewhere where it's clearly visible. I don't need that, after all it's just a pressure gauge.
Maybe I should add that I just saw someone reviewing the Shuttle Gauge on RU-vid and he was a lot more positive about it than I am and seemed to think it was amazing, so maybe you should consider it despite what I just wrote. 😃
Whats up guys .Sad news ,I bought a brand new epic evo with GX casette and chan and derailer and the chain only lasted 2months ….any suggestion on what chain I should by next? Bike shop told me I should go for a kmc chain because of my way of riding😅
My kickr has noise and the watt cannot show on Zwift. I tried to have spin down. But it failed. May you know what the issue is and how to fix it? Thank you so much
Hi, Does it power on? If you move the counter weight wheel around by hand is the noise also there? If the noise is still there. You will have to remove the chain and the try again as above. If the noise is still there you will have to start to dissemble it. It could be a bearing that has gone. The only issue that worries me is that you are not getting the power readout. If you ride on Zwift. does it change power as instructed by Zwift or does this not work anymore either?
Ciao, very nice and detailed video, quick question I was thinking to buy this one but I have no idea about sizing and fitting, what’s your head circumference? Mine is 58,5 in theory M should work for me, any suggestions? I do not have chance to try it before buying
I have the Medium and I am 57,5. But in hind site I think I should have gone with the large as I have adjusted it to max setting when wearing a buff. Would be best to go to a shop and try it on first
Short answer: Yes love them Long answer: Yes. Still using them with no issues. But I did have a closer look at how I could replace the bearings, and the top wheels spacer comes off with no issues. But it doesn't look like I can take the one off the bottom wheel. So if your planning on changing the bearings yourself. Maybe check at the shop that both are loose. If your not planning on doing that. Then this is not an issue.
oh plz don't say YOU CAN USE SIDE CUTTERS, U were lucky there; i used side cutters & fukked up my cable, flattened it & being there WAS just enough free cable left i had to buy a new Jagwire cable & pull out my inernally routed dropper post. what shoulda been a NO $$$ 5 min job took many & manya hours ALL BECAUSE I DID NOT USE THE RIGHT TOOL
You are totally right about the core coming out. Why would you ever the the 'high pressure' version ? Given any bicycle bought after 2010 has a PSI of 80 or less.
mine is doing a noise and vibration when in high speed . i cann hear that is coming from the big metal wheel on the drive part but cant find that is rubbing anywhere. do you know if i can take that part out? cheers
It’s probably the bearings. If you take the rubber belt off and rotate the flywheel by hand. Is it smooth or does it wobble and when rotating it, it may feel rough. Yes you can replace all bearings and moving parts
Hi. In my case is not on the fly wheel for sure. Is somewhere on the big metal disk. I opened and add grease on the hub but still can hear the problem. Mine is 6 months old. Do you think the bearings could be already the problem?
Before you change to many things. Is it still not under warranty? I would take it back and let them have a look. On the one I was fixing the plastic cover was tubing. If you use it without the cover is the noise still there?
@@BrianMaynardLetsDoThisThing yes. i guess if the only possible explanations are the bearings, then i might just leave to see if it will get worse. to change it will be easy. thanks
Keep it up watched chain gx vs x01 and your cassette video carnt seem to find your 1995 cassette review tho did it last any longer? P.s keep it up with vlogs
Hi, Thanks for watching. I have not changed the x01 cassette yet. It’s still going strong. So it definitely lasts longer. As soon as I have to change it. I will do a follow up vlog
It’s very good. It has not gone flat on me yet. I have also only charged it twice so far. Not because it had to be charged, but just to be safe before 2 big races. Both were over 10 hours of continuous riding with no problems.
@@BrianMaynardLetsDoThisThing thanks, I'm looking to buy one of these, but for me battery is very important, because I race some ultra sometimes and It could be even 5 days, every little thing that I don't have to carry with me makes a difference| ...
Thanks for the video. I needed to replace my Kickr 1 belt and in the process I managed to over tighten the bolt that holds the spanner (the one that you are loosing at 5.37) and now it's broken. I actually managed to get out the broken part so now just need to get a new bolt. Any help where can I buy such a bolt in EU and actually how to ask for it?
Hi, Not sure where you would get it in the EU. But it’s a normal bolt hex head. I think it’s an M5 but could be wrong about the size. I’m sure you can order it online if need be.
