Actually, starting with 4G, half duplex is often used. However, it switches so fast you don't notice it. One advantage of half duplex is the upstream/downstream ratio can be variable, whereas with full duplex, it's symmetrical.
Wonder how a video can change your life? ;) Automation is the need of the hour. Few years back when I started my career, I was super puzzled. I stumbled on this video in 2015 and saw a future in this in India as a lot of companies were still evolving. I researched further and joined a course for PLC / SCADA with Just Engineering in Pune as they are in the affinity city where even Mercedes and other big companies manufacture at. I completed by course with them and successfully got placed. It's been 4 years now and I owe it all to this video for helping me get to my passion.
In nominal mode, UPS in datacenters are configured to ensure a permanent double conversion (Grid/Gen AC to DC then DC to AC), to suppress the eventual imperfections of the incoming supply, and to ensure continuity of service in cases of brownouts.
Of course, that all depends on keeping fuel flowing to the generators. Even though our DC has direct fuel lines to a large tank the minute the generators are on and stable an automated call is placed to start routing tanker trucks to our location. We are only allowed to cancel them once four tracks have shown up even if power has returned and the grid is stable. Those four tracks are on hold in our lot for 24 hours after the close of the initial event. They then get dispatched back to home base as one every four hours. Meaning that we have fuel coverage for forty hours past the tank capacity. We also have a four-bedroom crew bunker set up for the crew to wait in. It is set up like a high-security student dorm with its own security team.
Good video and interesting insights on Automation, although as you spoke about SCADA, I'd also like to add the use internet of things (IoT) in industrial sectors and applications. The IIoT or Industrial Internet of things refers to a smart factory, interconnected sensors, instruments, and other devices. We've developed a whole margin of updated content for the automation industry in terms of manufacturing and processing factories, in our syllabus. So based on the last thing he said, developing software with a language that effectively checks for boundaries is one way to prevent against buffer overflow attacks? I came here curious as to how a network administrator could effectively prevent against a buffer overflow attack.

don't let """Skyler Hackett""" fool you, Cleveland community college is engaged in vast amount of federal grant fraud, and most of the speakers in this video are the most exhausted, burned-out people you will ever talk to
Well seeing how as I am about to obtain my Associates Degree in MCO-OT , and I am just a 21 year old ambitious student who is full of energy and drive (AND ALSO THE STUDENT IN THE PURPLE SHIRT IN THE VIDEO), I would have to disagree with the later part of your statement. I can neither confirm nor deny the first part of your statement as I have no idea about that. However, I can assure you that I am doing everything necessary to become successful, and I consider your statement an insult towards all the students and instructors at C.C.C. who actually do care.
Thank you for your comment. We understand that for many applications, the STS, or static transfer switch, is going to be a better solution because of its speed and load handling ability. The ATS, or automated transfer switch, however, does have it's advantages considering it is cheaper and less complex leaving fewer parts to fail. Both are viable to do the job depending on situation. Please keep in mind that the example given in the video is just one example of how this could work and different facilities handle things differently.
