Whatever you do in life, a miniscule number of people will like it, a miniscule number won't and the overwhelming majority will be completely unaware..

@@sandpit72 that was a complete eye opener. I’m nearly 50 and I’ve lived in north Devon my whole life and have done a fair bit of mooching in my younger years but have never considered how far you could actually go by cross country without roads. That was some achievement You would be great on that hunted tv programme I saw some years back. 👍

Well remember walking the line from the station [where my grandparents lived] to Rumleigh and beyond after the track was torn up in 1969, you could go as far as you wanted towards Tavistock until the vegetation started to take over probably in the 1980's.The trackbed was cleared to an extent around about 2008 when there seemed to be a real possibility that the line would reopen, unfortunately it didn't happen-better luck this time hopefully.

YES! Number 7! Always fascinated me since I was a little kid in the 80s when we used to go here on Holiday (my Uncle and Auntie ran a resteraunt there for years, The Mexican Hat I think it was called?), and had no idea where the other end(s) was! Literally saw the title of this video and hoped it would feature that, and it does! Thank you, you've literally answered a 35+ year old question for me.

I agree on your prediction, I also thought this for a while, there's cracks in the road surface up on that stretch in places so I think the ground is slowly eroding up there already.

Certainly a lot to explore in Devon. I wonder how many people actually know it exists and walk this? I live in Dorset and near me (West Bay) there has been a great deal of land slippage due to excessive rain and inadequate footings (either by tree roots to shore up the cliff or man made solutions which never work). This is not exclusive to the south west, look at erosion and landslide in Yorkshire (Scarborough) and the south Holderness coastline. Interesting.

I fell off a cliff recently while exploring and ended up in hospital. I was so lucky I didn’t paralyse myself. Please stay away from these locations they are so dangerous. There are plenty of flat, beautiful areas that are much better suited for walking.
