This looks like it happened because of those floats you have on the side of the kayak. If you put them inside of the scupper holes they will break them.
Pontoons saved him….and a good paddle kayak!!!!! I just got a BKC pk13….I think I’m getting pontoons and some flotation foam and pump…..that’s scary with toothy fish around…..
Can anyone make a comparison of this set up with the outriggers vs the Jackson Kayak Cuda 12, Cuda HD, Kraken and wilderness systems thresher 140? I am trying to choose a kayak for fishing but mostly some inshore diving and recreational paddling in Oregon and Washington. Any insight would be great! Ideally a small kayak is what I’m looking for for ease of transport and getting to spots, but I’m a fairly large guy at about 6’3” and 215 lbs. Thanks!🤙🏼
When I was river kayaking 30+ years ago we used air bladders shoved in the bow and stern of the kayak as extra protection from sinking if we took on water. Dry bags work great for this, as you can also fill them with a few cargo items as well as air. I don’t know why this common practice is no longer done.
