@@lukebraddford3287 ya thanks for the reply. I actually figured it out from another commenter. I guess the controller board is wired backwards and had to switch the white and the blue wires. Thanks again for everything 👍
all the way to the left is not lock, it is accessory only. Power goes only from BAT to ACC. When the ignition is in the Run position, it connects BAT to ACC and IGN. and the start position disconects ACC and connects IGN and START
Hey mate I just upgraded mine it’s a 3 way key ignition I have wired it up so the accessories come on then you can start the truck but when I turn the key off nothing happens BUT if I turn the key back to accessory engine cuts off any ideas? Please help
Thanks for the great tutorial and showing how easy this is. Bought the ignition key and the decoder. Still waiting for my buttons. I will give an update how things are going!
hello, thank you for an amazing video. I have an adruino pro micro. How can I connect the key ignition switch. Please, give me a step-by-step instructions on wiring. Thank you
Awesome thanks for the vid! My ignition switch turned up yesterday. 4 terminal however.. it only has numbers (1,2,3,4) and does not show acc, batt, ignition, start like yours. Would you happen to know out of the numbers what's what? That would be much appreciated
I did. Tried both ways, still nothing. Also used the same switch from Amazon. At the end I figure ir out. No need for jumper cable and only 4 connections, 2 at the board.
330 and 320 are really close in size. Both would be fine. You should also take note of the shape of the grip. Round vs oval. You can see on different sites for wheels they show pictures on the grip used. Is there any stores you can goto to feel the size and grip of wheels?
Got my encoders today! Waiting on my main box and ignition along with the other buttons, wanted to say thanks for giving out such good videos on this stuff, not en electrically savvy person so I’m glad you made it nice and simple:)
Thankyou! I'm wondering if this can further be wired to a push button start so you can have the option of either turning the key after the electrics are on or push button start? 🤔
I have an ignition push-button on my button box. I use Joy-to-Key to make this work - what I do is assign a keybind to pressing the START button once only to turn on the electrics, then I HOLD the START button to start the engine (with a different keybind). To turn the engine off, I simply press the START button again. Alternatively, I also have an ignition key on the button box which I can use to turn on ELECTRICS, then I can press the START button to start the engine. Using Joy-to-Key allows me to change which keys are bound to which physical button actions without having to change them in the game. For example, if I have bound the E key to ELECTRICS, then I can assign this to any button or mutiple buttons on my button boxes, and can change where it's located. I can also save differnt profiles for differnent games.
Great video, im about to make a button box with an ignition and I have bought pretty much the same ignition box, are you able to tell me what depth of box is needed to house one of those?
Ive followed this to the letter and the game controller in control panel shows all three "buttons" regardless of key position. Any idea? UPDATE: Check the polarity of the joystick encoder. I had to reverse the wire colors and everything worked.
I know this is old but just wanted to thank you, was going crazy trying to figure out why it wasn't working and I switched the colors and it worked perfectly! Thank you so much!!
@@lyonhaert4107 lately I've been trying 360 as well. In Monaco for example it helps with some tight turns. This track flows a bit so 540 is fine. Just try what's best for you.
Got mine wired up, but when i go to start the truck in-game my accessories comes on, and then after it cranks the truck shuts right back off. Does this sound like a bad ignition switch?
@@lukebraddford3287 The right switches are lit up, but i see that the accessories one cuts out for like a split second when moving from ignition back to electrics
Hi, I wanted to buy the ignition from your link but it doesn’t ship to my country. Does it matter how I wire the connections? Because the ignition I found doesn’t show Battery Engine etc. Please help me I know I am a bit late but I am not sure about this
I'm sure you can find any other ignition with the same connections, it doesn't specifically have to be this one. Which country are you in I can take a look around tomorrow for you as well
@@moritz9529 You can buy this exact one from ebay I found www.ebay.com/itm/283818471343?epid=2291397842&hash=item4214e62faf:g:1kEAAOSwjdFecTGH I couldn't find it on amazon germany. Search ebay for "dorman 85936". Let me know if you had any luck.
@@lukebraddford3287 hi sorry for being so late. I found one on Amazon and it should arrive today. I’ll let you know how it went and thank you so much for your help!!
i dont think this is ideal. you dont need to connect Acc and Start. All that does is make it so that turning left and right 1 click do the same thing. If you drop that connection then turning left gives you ACC, right 1 click ACC + Start, 2 clicks right Start + Ignition., see Amstudios video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Dk8GSy6zR_o.html&ab_channel=amstudio
I see how he wired his, he has to move forward to engage electronics, then again forward for start. I prefer this method so I hold the switch to turn it on properly. To Turn it off I just go all the way to the end. Personally I like this method more.
