Hello, I finally bought one two days ago, I want to ask on how fast do you charge it? I have a prior experience with my prius prime and now rav4 Prime, I lean more to the idea that slow charging helps to maintain a healthier battery … also I work with a Japanese company here in the U.S. and I find the information you are saying here are very interesting relating to what I see here.
The bike is capable of level 2 charging (j1772 connector) at 200v (in Japan) Ive always charged it at 200, there is no need to lower that to 100v as it wont make much difference to the life of the battery. Other EVs like tesalas have proven that fast charging vs slow charging make very little difference to the life of the battery. At 200v it takes about 2h from 30% to 100%. Maybe 2:30 min from 20%. You could charge at 100v and leave it overnight if thats the only outlet you have. I recommenced investing in a lvl 2 charger for your home.
I commute 92km a day with my ce04. But I do not drive though cities that much so I can drive 100km/h most of the time. In general I have 10-20% battery left (depending on weather and temperature) I installed the larger wind screen offered by BMW - since then I have got 10% more battery with my commute and it is way more comfortable driving at higher speeds.
I have M + sport. Biggest trouble is winter driving. It`s impossible on ice, due its 110 Nm torq. It have two speed setting, but lower is too weak to keep on while driving. Its rims are too expensive for studded tires. Its range is up to 70 kilometers with lower speed.
Hello from Beikoku! I recently purchased a 04 and would be pissed as well - thanks for the videos. Btw, BMW provides a 1-3 year extended warranty (here); after watching this video I got the 3 year extended. Btw II - I used to live in Ookurayama.
I regret reading some comments of dissapointment. I've got my Niu NQI gts sport (14"wheels- Niu batteries/standard range) for 2,5 years now, 10.000 km. It has never ever let me down, after using it extensively in all conditions. Never serviced it, nothing. The thing just goes on and on...smooth ride, never used the app. Interesting to know they returned to the Panasonic batteries for the long range version. Could be the better option...😉
Hi All👋🏽 I too have the CE04, just completed a long drive with it and also took it down to 9%. My test was 40 miles each way with a level 2 charger in between. At the destination I was left with 38%, rode back for 17 miles to reach the charger and now left with 9% soc. I founded out that my bike only have the standard 10amps or 2.3kw charger, bummer 🙃…, took 40 minutes to get 38% for about 27 miles of range, I need 21 miles to ride back home. It almost died on me, i have to stop for another charge in a Nissan dealership, charged for about 20 minutes, ate some popcorn and drank a Red Bull while waiting. I was able to get home but used eco mode at that time. Anyway, I wish that I got the fast charger, would have been one charge in between only.
Nice, mine is just basic I guess, I went to the dealership and I was told it’s just basic charging. Didn’t know, wish I can charge fast, I tested mine in a long haul to low 15% soc, then charged in a charging station for ev’s thats when I founded out the long wait. Maxed out at 10amps. Oh well… thanks for the answers and good videos.
Did you check the settings? You can change how many amps the bike takes in. I set mine to max so I can get the fastest charging depending on where I charge. At home it maxes out at 15amps, but when I charged at Hundai's dealership it was charging at 30amps.
The suspension could just be a weather related thing. Needing time to warm up or something. It doesn't happen all the time, just intermittent. Ill still ask BMW about it next time I take it in.
@@electrifyjapan5554 I will focus on the sounds my suspension is making the next few days for those days will be wet and cold. Maybe i just overheard the squeaking.
why is the battery so damm expensive .....its the price of the scotter .....this is rediculous..in canada it sells for 2199.00 canadian ...over here the damm battery sells for 1550.00....that means once the battery is fried you need to scrap the scotter and get a new one...what a rip off ...you can keep your junk thx
Ciao! Vorrei chiedere una domanda, Io ho trovato un scooter esattamente come questo modello non mai utilizzato da 2021 quindi è nuovo, ora vorrei sapere come riesco capire la saluta della batteria?
Question: is it possible to disconnect the batteries by leaving them in the scooter? I think there are no space problems for the one under the seat, but what about the one in the front?
disconnect both batteries make sure they are charged 90 percent and now u can leave both batteries in the bike for about 3 to 4 months no problem as long as its not to cold like 25 to 30 degrees and as long as its not 100 degrees and highter now u got the true facts about how to maintain youre scooter
I only ride the bike for 30 or so mins every day so comfort wise its fine. I did get a seat cover that adds a little lift and padding. Found it online and its made by Coleman of all companies! Its called the Coleman MadDog GearComfort Ride Seat. Fits this bike really well and looks good.
Not sure what type of batteries are used, but some battery chemistries don't like sitting for days on end at full charge - it reduces the overall life. My DJI drone automatically discharges it's batteries after 3 days if they are full. It's a built-in feature. I also store my model aircraft LiPo batteries at around 20% charge.
Its the only EV ive seen with that kind of drain. Only solution is to take out the main battery and just let the smaller ECU battery die. Hopefully this is something they will fix in the long term. Or possibly with an update.
u can its the white wire inside the battery now once u do that no more gps on the scooter and now u will have to install youre own gps if u like on the bike like under it air tags or the tile gps is what i will go with now no more problems even when the battery is drained to 0 percent which i dont recomend but now u are gucci you are welcome rember they did that so they can keep u as there customer 4 life and i dont like that u should be able to buy from who ever; but the real reason is after youre warranty is over they can send a virus to youre bike threw the gps these are chinos they play chess not checkers so be smart and disconnect from them you are welcome 23 yr s in this game i just gaVE A jem out u guys are welcome
Hi, My CE 04 is arriving this week. I was wondering if you think a Hiplock D1000 can be used with this bike? The covered wheels make it hard to judge from pictures and videos. Thanks.
Looking at the hip lock, I dont think it will work since the wheels are disks instead of spokes. It wouldnt fit through the wheels, front or back. The bike already has lots of security. It locks itself in place and cant be moved without the key, so no one can roll it away. Good for parking on hills too.
I have a problem on mine since I bought it in july 2022. It displays a wrong battery percentage so I never know the real one ! The dealer doesn’t find the problem and the solution…
Thanks for awesome review! I have the Niu NGT 2020 version. It has 12949 km on the meter, I've been using it heavily! Mine has the original Panasonic batteries that NIU used to provide. 60V 35AH x2. And the charger came with the splitter to be able to charge both batteries at once. I live in Sweden, we have 230V power, but it takes about 5h to charge from empty to full. I feel NIU got cheap lately, they stopped using high quality Panasonic batteries and went for EVE instead. And stopped providing accessories. I'm gonna keep my NGT for long and see how much it can do! Hopefully NIU gets back on track.
As I mentioned, they did go back to Panasonic batteries since they are much better. More range and probably more stable. The cheaper Chinese ones really dont work for a bike like this.
Niu should upgrade the cells too.Lipo4 or gto which u can charge over 20000 cycles.Only the performance is not ready yet for bikes and cost lot of space.
Mine scooter does 80 miles but on 5 kwh. I think it's due to 100kg less weight and 9kw power limit. It looks like 8.9kwh is too big and power too high for the range
I get the feeling they will add another battery in the future, giving the bike double the range. There is enough space for another module. All it does is add some weight. Maybe the CE-06 or something.
@@electrifyjapan5554 I tried more batteries but it makes the range and performance lower for the standard one. They could give it much more range with a 12kw air cooled motor that would be 30kg lighter
