I got the same dtc P16D0. So I replaced the intake solenoid & the check engine light came back on. After I resetted the engine light & replaced the " engine variable timing control valve" the engine light stayed off. Good video. Pretty easy job.
Mines was fine till I pulled over put gas turned it on and drove bout a block and the check engine light came on I opened the gas cap closed it again and it was still on I took it to orallys and it popped up this code
It happened to me too, one hour driving. pulled up to a gas station, turned off after 20 mins turned on and it popped up. The thing is the check engine light comes on when it pleases.
I too know the feeling of being short and having to reach something at the bottom of the engine bay once I got stuck on the ledge of a fender for 3 hours cuz my belt buckle was hung on a thunderbolt My dad the people who work for him had to pick me up and get me off I was 14
There are side clips also!! Mine had a light green paint on them. So frustrating when little things like that aren't mentioned. But it was a place to start
Great video!!! Im having the same problem with my wife's 2015 Malibu. But im only getting the P2646 code and nothing else. Mechanic changed the VVT solenoid. So I'm guessing the intake and exhaust solenoid?
@@terialyelverton9843 My best advice, is to take your car to the dealer. It cost me a lil over 500. But if you can change yourself it’ll definitely save you some money!!!
Same here, 15 Malibu with 82,000 miles. I'm trying to save a few bucks but not changing the whole thing but after all this time maybe she (the car) deserves everything changed.
Thanks for the tips. I just did all that. Went with OEM parts. Ended up doing the downstream O2 sensor and changed the spark plugs as well. With a coupon at the dealer, paid $315 for all the parts. No more codes thank God. 🙏 Dealer had quoted me 1200 total for the job, minus the spark plugs.
I did mine. Was a total shot in the dark. Used Dorman, no longer have the car, but until I got rid of it, never had the code come back after the part was replaced. Was hesitant about Dorman, but at the time the ACDELCO part I think was over 300.
