hey, try a heatmap between 12 - 17 inches away. more saturation in an hour. temp cant get above 150 degrees. Or if you are trying to get cels then the silicone turns into tiny beads.
I'm sure you don't look at these anymore, but in the off chance you do, what did you use as you base to put the shaving cream in? Pie pans I have found out kind of suck for this
SWEET!! You didn’t add anything after the dye powders, right? At 14:35 you said that none of it was dry so should still get color… the only moisture in this process comes from the shaving cream, yeah? Thanks for sharing!
Great video, it was really cool to see that you get the same results as the cone mound method. Making the cone was really the only thing keeping me from trying the "time warp" method but the way you do it is waaayyyyy easier/more simple while achieving the same effect. Thank you!
Why is idye such a pain to get a hold of ? I cant find it anywhere except on amazon. Also are those custom jars for the idye or are those the pearl ex powered pigments?
You seem to forget to mention a lot of things.... Lmao... Maybe you'd benefit of doing an outline/script before you start recording... Haha... Just a thought/suggestion 🤷🏻♂️ Great vid though
Happy Holidays! i loved the video, and i have a question about what type of dye to use. would the "PROSPERSE DISPERSE DYES" be the correct product line to buy from Pro Chem?
Yeah the streaks come from the disc pushing down. I usually give it that push to help it along. And the light weight on the top and gravity do the rest. That's why it's important to use a container that leaves room for the shaving cream bed to push up around the disc.
I gotta be honest. I eyeball it and go by feel rather then an actual measurement. Because different shaving creams have different consistencies I will admit it's hard to put into words. But once you do a few it's easy to see the different effects you get based on the consistency of your shaving cream bed.
Do you know if it's possible to use Idye, either sprinkled on the lotion bed or mixed with a bit of water, instead of worm dip? Worm dip is pretty hard to come by in Europe
Hey no problem! Happy to help. Sorry for the late response. For some reason I wasn't getting notifications on this account. And I believe it is possible. However I haven't done it. So you would need to do a bit more research on how much of each to add. And you might have to add a touch of 100% Acetone.
@@dye2disc625 Thanks for the answer! I tried sprinkling idye on a lotion bed which turned out pretty well! With mainly blue and green colour, the results were more "smokey" than popping colourwise, but this could also be an effect of using lotion that seemed to be a bit too runny I think. Will try with acetone!
I'm a bit late to answer here, but I use iDye Poly mixed with acetone and it works great with a glue base or a lotion base. Just mix about 2.0 ounces of acetone with 1/4 teaspoon of iDye Poly powder and mix it up, and then use eye droppers to transfer it onto your base. It also works to paint on a disc or spin-dye with. Good luck!
Love your tutorials Cole.. You English just fine. I am an MVP disc guy myself and would love to see you dye a proton (translucent) and neutron plastic disc or 2.
I actually started on MVP discs. If you check my Instagram page and scroll down towards the bottom it's probably mostly MVP and their brands. But I'm sure I can get a video up on some Gyro.
If you had put the colours down in the opposite order wouldn’t the lighter colours come through more? Also how long did you wait for the colours to absorb into the foam before adding the disc? Thanks for the great video!
prochemicalanddye.net/prosperse-disperse-dyes.html And this is the starter set. You get a few colors. prochemicalanddye.net/all-dye-samplers-starter-kits/samplers-starter-kits-for-polyester-nylon-acrylic-acetate-rayon-ingeo-dyes/prosperse-disperse-dye-sampler.html
This is great instruction on what to do and not to do. Thank you! In your shaving cream video you used a powdered dye and you laid light colors first. Does is matter what order you lay down the color using the hair dye?
That's a fair question. Some people enjoy doing the Mound method. The water I believe helps add moisture so that even if you do add a little bit too much powder it will still be wet. But for sure it helps allow the disc to sink. Which will give you the streaks we were looking for in this video. Feel free to go check out my page for some of my other works. All that I did using this style had water added to it.
You don't have to apologize so much. This is great quality compared to all other dye videos I've seen! It only it were easier to get iDye in Sweden I'd be all over trying this!
Jag har köpt ett pulver från Amazon. Gillar inte att handla från Amazon men det finns ju inte så mycket till alternativ när det gäller pulver. Får se hur detta färgningspulver fungerar.
I find I have been underwhelmed with how it tends to appear on those plastics. For those I use either hair dye or Lotion and worm Dip. Two other methods I will try to cover
Hey Daniel Cook from Kitchener, how are ya? Thanks for the video! I've got some prosperse coming, can't wait! That blue is insane! Thanks for the qtip trick, I've always used straws and had accidents where a bunch falls out.
