I used to watch you guys when you were in Portugal and I saw someone mention you guys in the comments section of Expats Everywhere. I just checked in & saw that you are in my birthplace. I am a Vincentian, and I moved to Canada some 50 plus years ago. It’s good to see St. Vincent from the perspective of a RU-vidr.
Correct, you can order as much as you want or eat at multiple restaurants for dinner. The portions are on the smaller side every where but the steakhouse which we love since you try more things.
@@HoneymoonAlways Yes - we were celebrating our anniversary, and the butlers went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Regarding the resort - our room was huge, the infinity pools by the beach were wonderful, and the sunsets were amazing.
@dougkeating4335 that sounds wonderful! As you can tell from the video I loved the resort, but when I was there I didn’t have enough down time to really enjoy the pool and take in the location enough, so we’re going back in November!
I am looking at the different Sandals locations. The price! The least expensive I am seeing is $1220 for 2 per 27:55 night Looking to celebrate 45th wedding anniversary (but we also want to redo our bathrooms). Does that price sound about right?
Looking forward to the full walkthrough! This is the top of our list so far for our 15th anniversary next year. Saint Vincent, Antigua, and St Lucia are our top three in that order. Hoping your next video seals the decision for us.
I live in Portugal for 3 years iand I see that foreigner have dificulties to adapat to Portuguese culture as they are very close and not very international like spanish or italians.
I wasn’t pleased with Sandals Royal Barbados. Did you guys not have trouble with all the Local Drug Dealers pushing you to buy drugs while you were just trying to enjoy the beach? I wouldn’t go on the beach most days because it was incredibly stressful and scary being approached so many times of locals trying to get me to buying drugs. It was awful. Extremely Disappointed.
Of the two, and/or out of all Sandals- which would you recommend for an elopement? My fiancé and I already know we want something private. Our kind of honeymoon looks like relaxation on the beach, and swimming in ocean- not the pools. We have a pool at home, we want ocean! Maybe an excursion or two. We love Sandals for being all-inclusive dining, but really it’s about the scenery, privacy, romance.. 💘 and anyone can comment 🙂
Another great (useful) video. Thank you so much for putting these videos out there. I used your videos to put my paperwork together (San Francisco office) and the process was very smooth. When its approved (thinking positive) I am gonna use this video for the immigration appt once I arrive in Portugal. Again, thank you for another great informative and useful video.
I wonder if you guys would rank the St. Vincents and the Grenadines location. It looks stellar and I think we are going to make that one our next visit.
Sandals Grande Lucian is stellar. We stayed in one of the newer beachfront hex bungalows, but, sadly, there was a couple that was in the over the water bungalows that kept stationing in the front of our room, smoking constantly, and blasting loud music nearly 24 hours a day. Security at the resort did essentially nothing. Smoking and disruptive behavior is not allowed, and people like that should be removed and permabanned if not compliant. I will vouch for the helicopter ride. The ride in the van was FOREVER and the traffic in Castries was backed up for MILES.
I appreciate this unfiltered video SO much, I have been looking at ads and sites for so long, it just seemed like such an overly extravagant resort for the overly elite and beautiful etc, I felt SO intimidated. This video helped me realize that its just a normal place and not as perfect as the ads
We went here in April 2024. Our helicopter ride was cancelled, plus it’s at least another 45 min ride to the resort from the helicopter pad in Castries. Apparently they are short staffed and can’t accommodate everyone who wants to book. The ride from the airport is really long, closer to 2 hours. The food was good at every restaurant we visited. Entertainment was excellent. We didn’t find the atmosphere was “party”, but the main pool was a hub of activity. The main complaint I have about this location is that there isn’t enough shade for beach lovers who need to be protected. You have to be a go-getter and be outside and reserve chairs before all the butlers get out there-some people said well before 6AM. This is insane. We are on vacation!! Then you have visitors from La Toc and Halcyon coming and grab up more of the chairs. We did 2 excursions, 1) sunset cruise-beautiful, but a drive of about 1 hour picking up others from the other Sandals, then the cruise was only about 1-2 hours, so a lot of driving. 2) zip lining-this was fantastic, but we went drove the 1-1.5 hours, picked up others and then arrived around noon. It was so hot!! There were only 2 water stations between zips, and 1 was empty. It seemed we were the last group there, so there didn’t seem to be any urgency to refill the water. Not sure we would return due to the travel from Toronto to St. Lucia. We were exhausted our first day, but otherwise a nice vacation.
I’ve heard good things about Secrets Cap Cana but haven’t been yet. I would say Sandals has been making huge strides with their 2 newest resorts and will be making changes to existing resorts to match our changing expectations.
There are about 3-4 dogs. They mostly stay to the beach and only one or two will come up to guest if you encourage them. None of them come to guest that aren’t calling them from what I have seen. At dinner one or two stop by the restaurants hoping to get some scraps.
Awesome video! Looking forward to these ones. Is there a lot of entertainment/activities during the day on the resort or by the pools? Also entertainment in the evenings? Some sandals have more entertainment/activities than others so I'd be interested to hear where this sits.
