You are right, for example, Pigma says "Daddy scream real good before he dies!" in English, but in Japanese he says "Your daddy's waitin' for ya in hell!"
Not gonna lie, keeping the JP laugh in the Western release for Andross was a *very* good call. He was legitimately intimidating as all hell in his English dialogue, but that laugh is too perfect to mess with. ...................................................................And then 3D messed with it. =/
An interesting tidbit is in the English version, Bill has a Husky and Bulldog Unit... At 1:47, he's got a (Saint) Bernard Unit. I'm gonna guess they changed the dog breeds because "Bernard" is an actual name and could be confused for an unseen character rather than a dog breed reference.
Impression I get off of every Star Wolf member based on their voices English - Wolf - James Bond Villain - Leon - Maniacal Individual - Pigma - Cartoon Goofball - Andrew - Whiny Kid Japanese - Wolf - Dangerous Fighter - Leon - Intelligent Person - Pigma - Big Bruiser - Andrew - That weird kid in class
@@SorcererLance Perhaps "maniacal" might be a strange way to put it, but definitely someone who's rather sadistic (with his slow speech, less aggressive tone, and all in the context of someone who's out for blood), but I'm not sure if his personality is clouding my view. That said, I will concur that it does sound a bit like James Bond villains
2:03 Is it just me or is the robot voice kinda cute sounding? I mean...I'd be pretty intimidated by the giant robot alongside a maniacal sounding voice like this, but if the voice is heard alone, it does sound weirdly adorable
It was recently created, or "born", so I guess they wanted to emphasize how fresh out of the factory it was by having it sound and behave like a child. I wouldn't be surprised if the line "where is the creator?" was originally "where is my daddy?"
@@CLTurtleand makes it a teensy bit sad knowing you had to destroy it as it never had a chance to know who built him and why... While sounding like a lost, confused and possibly scared child
Glad you included the "Can't let you do that, Star Fox." part. That line is such a meme in the internet. Lol P.s. In the Japanese version of this line, wolf just say that he's going to defeat Fox.
4:02 Rick May actually recorded the laugh, grunts, death cry, etc, but they went unused, probably due to time constraints. You can look them up online.
