He was dead for at least an hour (or longer) by a self inflicted gunshot wound. Blood starts to coagulate and dry within minutes after leaving the body. If you look closely, you can see the dried blood coming from his nose as that officer pulls him out of the vehicle. Small caliber guns don't do a lot of damage to a human head. Sometimes the bullet won't even pass through the skull (this isn't Hollywood). Blood from the nose, mouth, and ears is common with a head shot. Now a shotgun, or other high caliber firearm, those officers would've waited for the M.E. to clean that mess up. I guarantee they would've just left him in that vehicle if that were the case.
You can see the cop the cop approaching the body has nothing in his hands as he approaches. He then seems to be struggling, and comes out with a handgun pointed in the air. Now I don't think I need the final report to deduce that the driver killed himself, and as rigor mortis set in, the grip on the gun was real tight, which is why the cop stepped in to remove. He's wearing gloves, which is good, but it's kind of fucked up how they just dragged his body and left it lying there with no paramedics at the ready, or a stretcher ready to transfer to the morgue.
If you look on the ground, right before the drag him, there isn’t anything. When they pulled him out and he hit the ground, something, probably blood, is on the ground. I think it was from his head. The blood didn’t drag after that because the pulled his head off the ground when they started to drag him.
He could have ridden downtown and gotten released with a court-date. When the tactical vehicles are against both bumpers there are only 2 outcomes, you cannot choose death to claim that it was murder.
