We came to primrose valley,first impression were very good,then we got to the caravan,from then on it was just a disaster,the caravan was nice,but when we entered the place was seriously infested with flies they were all over the living area and kitchen,we phoned reception an got nowhere,so we walked there an explained the problem,all we got was the caravan had be cleaned,as we were there we over heard another couple complaining of the same issue,then we spoke to a neighbour an they had the same issue an no help whats so ever.if i had have had the grandchildren with me i would have just left,we couldn't cook any food we couldn't eat any food,we spent 4 days living in the double bedroom luckily it had an on suite.i wont be going back.

Rosecroft is gone, would of helped smash that fucker down for free! Clarksons wood is as lush green as ever. Would of been nice to see the old bridge and beck that runs or ran threw the middles. So the old Wadkin factory finally got shifted then and turned into somehting. Dounbt many of the familys i grew up with aree even left there now. Thanks again mate. i am actually in South Africa now so this lirtle old country boy is a long long long way from the shaletips, kilton castle and home. All the best!

I had the pleasure of staying in the cottage at 14:15 when it was a holiday let. Two lovely weeks and plenty of fossils. The huts below have not changed a bit. ( I was there about 6years ago. Thanks for reminding me.
Is that the small building next to the big one? What are they called? I stayed at a hotel called Hermitage - I think - many years ago. I don't remember it looking like that but it might have been.
First went when they had a big adventure playground and a toboggan run, all free. Kids would spend hours there, which help to stretch a tight budget. Replaced it with a fairground, costing extra of course. It never looked as busy but probably made more money for the owners.
Omg, you know, I went to primrose valley in the 90s, I was actually there before and when they opened the big tower which had kids slides and stuff from it. I knew they had gotten rid of Princes entertainment room and replaced it with the arcade / indoor pool, but to see that the slide tower has gone has tonight, broken my heart. I know all structures are built with a life span and I'd never want anyone on their holiday to have to suffer sub-par standards for the sake of history, but I am so gutted to see that tower gone! Go on my account and check out the series "Seasiders" to see how this site used to be. Literally half the size and so much of a better holiday!

In 664, the abbey was built on the east cliff overlooking the Esk and town of Whitby, was the site of the Synod of Whitby, at which the Northumbrian Celtic church was reconciled to Rome. In 867, Whitby Abbey fell to Viking attack, and was abandoned until 1078, when it was re-founded by Regenfrith (Reinferd) a soldier monk, under the orders of his protector, the Norman, William de Percy. The second monastery lasted until it was destroyed by Henry VIII in 1540.
