Fantastic shots on Thunderbolts way, thanks for sharing. We are just about to head down south from Brisbane on our Goldwing for a 4 week trip to Victoria and intend to do Thunderbolt way from the south end on our way home! Staying at Phillip Island, Torquay and Ballarat on our grand Vic tour! Looking forward to watching the next video and following your journey.
I don't blame you for avoiding Great Lake Road, in can be brutally cold on a bike, but a great ride on a warm sunny day! The bridge at Campbell Town is I believe the oldest on Highway 1 in Australia. some great engineering.
You are staying in a beautiful old building in Ballarat, very nice. You mention tress down, unfortunately we have a lot down around Tassie at the moment. To give you the heads up we are having a lot of strong winds here. Hopefully, the weather will improve by the time you get here. Darrel RtB
You have done a great job on the video, that scenery is stunning and so green. Good mix of the drone, helmet camera and commentary. Well done. Ride safe.
Don't know where you are now, but I just rode across to Orange and back from the west in the rain and hail so I hope you missed that, I am off to Tassie in a couple of weeks but only for a week unfortunately.
@@james91666 hi, we missed rain and hail fortunately and are currently in Ballarat where the mornings have been cool. We are heading down to Melbourne for a week and Tassie on 21st. We will be there for 4 weeks.
@@onourbike6283 You make very nice videos. What do you dream of doing with this channel? Monetization. and positioning itself as a band. Which one do you want to do?
Greetings from Northern Ireland , very spooky this came up on my feed and my daughter is going to work in Napier in the new year she is a teacher. My wife and I are fellow GS riders.
That is spooky. You should plan to visit her, it is a beautiful part of NZ as is your part of the world which we hope to visit in 2025. Donna and Murray
Hi, been enjoying your videos! Giving me lots of great ideas. I'm planning a 3 week bike trip End of Feb 2025 into mid March staring in the south island and finishing on the north. Are there any pros/cons traveling by bike that time of year?
Hi, Thanks for that. We did a two month trip this year February and March which was mainly the South Island. That time of the year is usually perfect for riding however no one can predict the weather especially this year in NZ. So the pros are you will have a great time and be blown away by the scenery so take your time and enjoy. Towards the end of our last trip I realised how much more stuff I could see and take in as the rider if I slowed down a bit. That in itself is tough especially if you like winding /twisting roads lol. The cons are you will wish you had more time on either Island and most likely will start to think about your next trip lol. Also if you like small museums then try and go to them as they are fantastic as we never found a bad one - Motorcycle Mecca, Wanaka National Transport Museum, Kauri Museum, - Northland, Classic Car Museum in Nelson and the Packard Museum - also in Northland, are a few I would recommend but I would need another page to list the rest and would go back to any of them again. So all the best and enjoy you trip and let us know how you got on. Cheers Murray and Donna
You didn't ride 90 mile beach ...we're heading that way in January ridingvtge Beach and then back up the river great ride so I've been told thank fir your vid awesome to see the sights
I've been in Dargaville for a while now but never bothered visiting this museum as I thought there wasn't much different to see; you just changed my mind on this, I'll take a look at it next time, but I won't film, because you did it so well... thanks for sharing.
The aviation centre is one of the best I have seen. I visited three aviation centres when I did a month long motorcycle ride in South Island. Watching your videos brings back memories from about five years ago. Thankyou for the video.
Sunday's are always great to enjoy quiet time in Queenstown anywhere in NZ to get out and about. A time to gather thoughts, relax or catch up with nature.
Hi guys awesome vids were planning on doing this ride up to Pahia and the cape next year in January can you please tell me where you stayed in Orewa and up north and what were the prices please
Hi, thanks for your comments. We use timeshare/vacation club in Orewa (Nautilus) and Paihia (Busby Manor) so hard to put a figure on that. We will be returning to the North Island later in the year and will use cabins/airbnb's/backpackers/pubs and the cheapest we got was $79 for backpackers and up to $140 a night. Enjoy your trip.
Hi guys we did the south island in January two weeks of great roads going back in 2025 ....2024 we are doingvthe north island going up north to ride around there
No worry's, the camera along with ya edit does great. I'm using a gopro 9, but have just noted changing some rendering settings made massive difference in my latest film. Thanks for your reply, and look forward to seeing your next video.
