We are twin brothers who love catching big fish from shore in California. Halibut, lingcod, sheephead, white seabass, calico bass, rockfish, and cabezon are our targets.

What area did you guys fish? Ive been having trouble fishing for cabezon but im around San Diego and Oceanside. Sick videos though cool to know we can catch them here, I always thought they were far north
@@martyjewell710 that's wild. We've caught hundreds of cabezon in southern California and none were as big as the 21" at the end of this vid. Different era
love the storytelling details you put in like the seal and the environment shots, they really capture the feelings of fishing in addition to the action
@@californiasurffishing don't get so bent out of shape brother I was just pointing out that poaching is a really big problem I saw you catch and release your fish there but people need to be really careful about the size I watch literally 10:15 people poached from the Santa Cruz Pier hoping the ranger to make a bust on these people because they had gotten out of control
Legal Halibut for me is going to the freezer then the grill, halibut is one of the best tasting fish, i would probably choose Halibut over Filet mingon or king Salmon steak
Do you feel at risk of getting your body tangled up in kelp and drowning? I read your guys’ book and wanna do what you’re doing in the video but im not good at swimming
Hey Ari. There's no risk of drowning because the waves are too weak for the kelp to sway and pull you in. Have never needed to swim thankfully. Only try this on super mellow days 🤙
@@californiasurffishing dang you got some , nice man. I’m gonna have to dig into the book and change up my approach. I went south after and it just unfishable 😂 I got a lot to learn
