This is the official channel of the Institute of Photography Technical Instructors at Falmouth University. The videos on this channel are here as support material to help all photography students.
Canada is like America - NTSC system at 30fps. Or 60 for HFR slow motion footage. 24fps is also an option but if you're filming where there's fluorescent lights, you'll get flickering.
This is about to go to major news for Consumer Protection Act violation to millions of customers. It is REQUIRED by DJI for their app to sync and work. I too need app to work for immediate clients.
Thanks so much for your kind words and glad that your first weekend as a boom operator went well. I'm so chuffed this video continues to help folks use the quirky, imperfect but usable Zoom H4n/Zoom H4n Pro. The music credits are at 10:20. Thanks again for your positivity! 🙏
Thanks for your feedback. Why the need to 'shout'? What does 'wisso' mean? Perhaps learn English to a more coherent level and aquaint yourself with some of the civilities of the Internet before the next comment, FYI. 😉
Hello I have a question. I possess a Nikon D810 and had to realize how fast the battery is empty when filming. Simply because liew view is on all the time. Is there a possibility to turn live view off while filming?
I think you can only shoot video with the live view turned on. I don't think that you film with the viewfinder, for example, like you can with modern mirrorless cameras. due to the DSLR physics mirror setup.
For those trouble shooting before sending it back, try removing the focus knob, cleaning etc. It appears we have to build our own network as dji sucks with gimbals. I'll be going elsewhere on replacement for this kit for sure.
Thank you for taking the time to comment! I'm glad it moved you in some way. Just out of interest what was it that made it "particularly "irrelevant" and "disturbing" to you personally?
Thanks for your curiosity! The slightly ominous background audio has been intentionally added to make the video tutorial seem less dry, perhaps even imply a subtext. Some people like it, some people find it annoying, some people hate it - each to their own, all opinions welcome although I may not choose to agree!
If I could only find a tutorial on how to lock out video to prevent that crap from getting in the way of my real uses of the camera for proper photography.
Thanks for taking the time to comment on this video, albeit in with rather angry, purist manner. What are these 'real uses' you speak of? Inserting the D810 up where the sun don't shine, perchance?
Ha ha, Lambada dances! I like that turn of phrase. I sent it back in the end, pretty good customer service, got a free tote bag with DJI on it. It was out of warranty but work paid for it to be fixed - I seem to remember it being around 150 Euros.
the horror movie noise is ? the D810 is a beaut fast camera & no horror there at all , very upside down with horror disturbance especially on an edu tutorial ✌️🎬🎥
I have had a D810 for a few years and have used it for still - I am a National Park photographer - but I have never needed video until now. This tutorial is excellent. Clear, concise and, above all, not patronising. Thank you so much, and wish me luck! PS, what video editing software would you recommend? I have iMovie preinstalled - it is any good?
Thanks a lot for your kind comments! The videos on this channel were initially made for the students we teach at our university but I'm super chuffed at reaching and helping a wider audience than was originally intended. We use Premiere Pro at our place but your can do quite a bit with iMovie nowadays. Editing in its simplest form is initially choosing the best clips, trimming them, and sequencing them into an order that either informs, entertains, makes you think, tells a story, etc or is a blend of all or some of the aforementioned elements. GOOD LUCK on your filmmaking journey!
@@iopvideo3137 Thanks for taking time to reply. My video journey will be short and probably only be for one or two projects... unless I decide to buy a half-decent-video camera! Shhh, don't tell the wife! I shall try iMovie in the first instance and love up if needed.
When you open up the SD card from the C100, it is not immediately obvious where your mp4 files are. You can ctrl click on the AVCHD icon and reveal the contents and navigate to your clips that way.
My motor is stable so it doesn't work on all 3 axes. and the problem has been solved what to do If there is a solution or where to order spare parts, please give me a link, thanks.
Really good tutorial. I have using my D810 for occasional filming for a few years but never really paid attention to shutter speed. great to get some advice on correct settings.
Thank you so much for the positive feedback. 🙏Although originally made for the University Photography students I instruct, it's truly gratifying to know that this video is helping people far and wide in their filming activities. Happy filming! 👍😀
With mono mix on, i still get a hum from the preamp staying on in the second port regardless. You know how to just mute the second channel and get a mono mix with just the first channel taking in audio?
@@leiferiksele @Leif Erik Sele I sent it back to DJI in the end. Even though it was out of warranty they paid for the postage. Customer service was actually really good. I'll ask the Line Manager to see how much it cost , it wasn't too bad from what I remember, something like £130 GBP.
Mine worked pretty good before I updated firmware. I started noticing roll problems after. I've spent so much time messing with it. Perfecting my balance. 3 different cameras. I'm going to see if I can install old firmware. I heard that can help. Tell us if you find anything out about yours.
@@iopvideo3137 oh, no, that music is so much like a very bad mic or cables... If you added the music through the RU-vid studio, you can open the clip and update the song without having to upload the video again. If it was added local on your post production.. then you're stuck with it!.. Glad I could help :)
Mine doesn't start recording when I press either button (the record and the shutter one). Also, the top right corner says [📹10m00s]. Does that mean I can only record 10 minute videos? :(
Thanks for the video. Can you please help me with some settings? I have very limited understanding of recording. I have a shure sm 58 and a zoom h4n. I only record voice overs on this set up. But there is too much white noise. Its so much that if i remove it in the post, the quality of the audio is also getting poor. Can you suggest any solution for this? Is there a setting that i can do to at least minimise the noise?
Hi, why did you format the SD card? If I have to switch between video and photo mode would it be a good idea to format the SD card or is it okay to leave it as it is?
Hi and thank you for your comments. When advising students, as an instructor I recommend they format their SD cards before using the camera to minimise the chance of any corruption and optimise communication between the camera and the media - it is not guaranteed that corruption or some error won't happen, though. Once it is formatted, it should be fine to switch from video to photo mode.
I have been searching to see if the D810 would be 'enough' of a camera to get into videography, I have one for stills and it's gorgeous, but I've never shot video. If I only want to shoot 1080, is this enough, would a D850 suffice? I prefer DSLR over Mirrorless but maybe it's not capable to get into documentary filmmaking.
Hi David, Thanks for commenting. It's more than enough to start learning about videography, for what it's worth. The camera is one piece in the jigsaw. Just as important are factors such as lighting, composition, an understanding of editing, set design, costume design, etc.
that shitty fucking noise they threw in is absolutely puke!!! It's awful and is hard on the ears! Why didn't you provide a video with a monologue for your demonstration? This video is a fucking waste of time. I was only able to stand 43 seconds and had to shut the fucking video off because that noise was truly nauseatingly awful! Moving on... not coming back so don't give a shit what you think about my comment. free speech folks, it's my constitutional right.
