Steve Gregg misquoted John Calvin. Calvin was against bare permission and not sovereign permission that Matt Slick is speaking on. Bare permission states something happened against what God decreed. “It is a well know fact that Calvin rejected the language that "something took place by the permission of God, but not also by the will of God." (Institutes, I. XVIII. I) It's intersting that, after rejecting the language of permission, he cites Augustine using language of permission and takes no issue with him. (Institutes, I. XVIII. The WCF 5.4 also seems to reject the same thing. But I also see Reformed theologians using the concept and language of God's permission of sin (example: R.C. Sproul in Chosen by God) Great is the work of God, exquisite in all he wills! so that, in a manner wondrous and ineffable, that is not done without his will which is done contrary to it, because it could not be done if he did not permit; nor does he permit it unwillingly, but willingly; nor would He who is good permit evil to be done, were he not omnipotent to bring good out of evil,” (Augustin. in Ps. 111:2). Steve would be the first to say not to praise his teachings in and of themselves, but I thank God that Steve has taken 2 Timothy 3:16-17 to heart; studying all scripture and using it to rightly handle what the truth is. Christ has used Steve for so many years to better exposit His word, and taught me how to really pick up the fork and feed myself instead of just relying on what I am told by various pastors.

Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission, as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church (1st Corinthians 14:34-35, or 14:41-42). Scholar Gordon Fee makes a good scholarly argument that these two verses are inauthentic (non-pauline) and strongly appear to be an interpolation failing the test of text critical analysis for reasons that follow: 1) This verse shows displacement on a level unprecedented within the New Testament as most early texts place it after verse 40. 2) One can make better sense of the structure of Paul's argument without the intruding sentences. Almost nothing in these intruding sentences fits into the present argument of the rest of the chapter or surrounding verses. 3) "Every woman who prays or prophesies" (11:5) which certainly allows women to speak and minister in Church, is in direct contradiction to the verse above, as such praying and prophesying is definitely within a Church meeting setting. 4) "As the Law says" is problematic in that not only does the law not say such a thing, but it is uncharacteristic of Paul to not cite the text he is referring to. Nowhere else anywhere in the Pauline corpus does Paul appeal to the law in an absolute sense as binding on human behaviour. But, even after all of this, these two verses are used to suppress women in Church and disallow them to minister in any way. Such a verse is a convenient excuse for men to dominate and control in Church, while ignoring other texts of scripture such as Ephesians 4:11-13 where it speaks of the 5-fold ministry (but we have only Pastors now) and other verses such as "do not forbid speaking in tongues" (as many Churches teach the gifts of the Spirit have ceased), or "do not despise prophecies", but women must be silent in Church? What a joke! Women pray with their heads uncovered, and women sometimes have short hair in Church, and laying on of hands is almost nonexistent in Church (1st Timothy 4:14, Hebrews 6:2), as well as the public reading of scripture (1st Timothy 4). There is no allowance for spontaneous but ordered prophetic utterances (1st Corinthians 14:29-33). No allowance for anyone with a psalm, a teaching, a tongue, a revelation, an interpretation etc (1st Corinthians 14:26) to spontaneously get up in Church and minister. They ignore all these things and say "women must be silent in Church"? Sounds like convenient cherry picking to me!

Quite a deceptive use of statistics. Just because a verse does not directly support the Trinity, does not equate to denying the Trinity. Pick a verse in your 99.77% of "no on the Trinity" and see if it denies the Trinity or is silent on the Trinity. That's important! Now, you claim there are 106 verses in the Bible that are "yes on the Trinity." Do you consider those verses to be inspired or not? If yes, I recommend that you consider alternative interpretations of the term "Son of God". May my LORD Jesus bless you with truth. This can appear contradictory to the notion absurdism, which suggests that life is inherently absurd and devoid of ultimate meaning. Nothing worse than being a holy fool!
