Hi nice tutorial, i want to mount this on my r56 too but I read a lot of comments about losing audio and chimes. Do you have the same problems or you fixed the wiring in another way modifying the ones included in the unit, do you know if this unit supports retro cam?
Hi, and thank you for your video. One question. Will my reverse camera still work after installing this module? I've heard about some issues about this not working properly 🤔
I also installed a rear camera on my Peugeot 308 SW II from 2016. It was a lot of work to get it working so I like to share my findings with you: I used an Ebilaen AA/CarPlay unit and a Smartour 1080p camera. I found out as explained in this video that I had to use a relais to make it work since the voltage was varying between 12V-14V (so even above the 12V use a relais). They don't explain it in this video but it does matter to which yellow cable of the two cables of the relais you connect the - and signal/reverse light. Check Google for an image of how to connect the cables to the relais. Next, I also found out that I had to use the small red cable attached to the video cable. So don't cut it off! I had to connect it to the REVERSE input cable on the back of the Ebilaen module. This provides the module the signal that the car is in reverse. At first I connected this cable to the reverse light cable but as said earlier the voltage was varying too much. Therefore I connected the tiny red REVERSE cable to the + cable of the relais which also goes to the camera. And then it worked! Turn off OEM|Aftermarket camera in the main menu under settings > car. Finally, the guide lines on the screen were opposite to that my steering wheel was doing. Go to Front View in the main menu and change View to Normal of Reverse. Hopes this works for you. Cheers!
Thanks man, I spent a good share of the day struggeling with this install and I think that as you mentionned, the key is the relay! I'll give it another shot soon... By the way, where did you get the steady/power 12V?
@@thierryhimself2796 I managed to wire it up and used the antena amplifier cable in the headunit and wired it to the little red wire that came along with the RCA video cable. Since the Car has a Canbus, the camera pops up without needing the reverse camera signal. If you don't have a canbus you can just wire the cable from the antena amplifier back to the camera.
Hey there, I can't figure out the sound wiring. The main plug from the old radio has all the speaker lines coming to the new unit, but this one came with a bunch of AV female plugs. How did you wire it up for sound using stock speakers?
Thank you for showing it! Is it possible to get it to work wirelessly? I allways have to plug in lightning cable. I have tried a carlinkit adapter but it wont work. Do you know of an adapter that would make the Unit wireless?

Hello, im going to buy the same car the gt from 2015, if you install this, can you still use the rest of the funtions the screen car has? From there you control aircon, hands free etc. When I go backwards will the sensors still pop up on the screen? Thanks in advanced!!
do you have a firmware upgrade file for this unit? I have the same unit and after install it just flashes the logo. When I put it in Reverse in shows the view of the back up camera but still flashes on and off. please help
@@thediyguys6340 mine doesn’t work… does your unit comes with a canbus for them or no? When I try to set them up in the steering wheel app, nothing is registered :(
